Hi,
I've a 2013 Voodoo Bizango which I'm using an a project to practice my bike maintenance and generally mess about with.

As default its a straight steerer and I'm managed to get hold of a pair of exotic carbon forks to replace the original Raidon's. The new forks are tapered so my understanding is I need replace the bottom headset with an ec44/40.

On this thread the guys say to use a Hope - https://singletrackmag.com/forum/topic/voodoo-bizango-owners-headset-advice but the Hopes are not cheap.

There are cheaper options and as the hope is £35+ and the bike is probably not worth much more than than I'm wondering if I could use this - https://www.singletrackbikes.co.uk/m7b0s423p71299/M-Part_Elite_headset_lower_EC44_40_/Headsets as its half the price.

The key is the depth and if the M Part would fit.

Appreciate this is an old bike but just wondering if anyone did this.

I'm keeping an eye on ebay / the classifieds here, to see if any cheap ones come up.

Thanks

It'll probably fit, but measure it when you get it and if the insertion sleeve to too long then you can just cut it down. From memory I took about 5mm off the headset I installed in my Bizango and although I sold the frame a couple of years ago it's still going strong despite the new owner being a large person who does dirt jumps with it.

That was my thread. I bought an Uberbike headset and it's still in the frame now. Looking at their website it seems they don't do complete headsets anymore, which is a shame for you. You can get a Superstar bottom set for £25.99 and the insertion seems about right.

I used a cheap brand x headset when fitting tapered forks to a 40mm headtube.

Brand-X or Superstar headset cup - you'll only need the bottom one.

A blast from the past!

The superstar one looks spot on.
Thanks
