Just taken delivery of a Bizango frame and now need a headset. I've measured inside from the top and bottom to the ridge that's inside the headset and it's 10mm. You can just see the internal ridge here -

I thought I'd found which headset I can use from Nukeproof (T2 and B5 here -

), but the lower cup inserts by 14.8mm so it'll hit the internal ridge before being seated correctly. So, what are you people running? I want to go for a tapered steerer, so would need an internal top cup and an external 44mm bottom cup. But who does a bottom cup that only gets inserted by 10mm or less.

Thanks!

chop off the excess 4.8mm?

(I know it's about 1.5 steerer but the bottom cup is the same..)

Hmmm, yes that could be done. I have a friend with a lathe. I don't really want to spend £60 on a Hope when the frame was only £100! The Nukeproof option would be just over £30, but still preferable to try and find a bottom external cup that has an insertion depth less than 10mm.

Thanks. If all else fails then a Hope it may need to be.

I've emailed uber bike asking what their insertion depth is. Stop s****ing!

News from Uberbike is that their headset goes inserts 7mm, so we have a winner!

This is what I did.

Great frames btw - no bling value but sorted geo and very cheap!

Oh and a Hope's not £60. You just need the bottom cup, under £30 IIRC.

I need a full headset though. Frame was sold with no headset, so I need both bottom and top cups.

I know. I did think about it, but mintyjim was offering wheels too. I'm surprised yours haven't gone quicker.

I had two 18" frames for sale, one BNIB one used. Gave up trying to sell, so probably keeping one for myself (ss) and build others with gears for my wife.
