As per title really. Got a steel frame where the seat post had corroded in (alloy). The two have been separated but need to clean the seat tube up.
What tools, techniques or chemicals?
hydrochloric acid
Bmx restorers would choose oxalic acid - as its chemistry is as per its name to do with oxygen, it attracts the iron oxide (rust). I acid bath all my bmx frames when I buy them.
Alternatively, citric acid is weaker and kinder to the environment.

Cool cheers. It's not rust its residual galvanic corrosion from the seized post.
It's a much loved vintage frame so would rather avoid anything too corrosive. That tool might be the ticket.
Always thought citric would work but never read if it does the conversion thing patio or brick cleaner is only 40percent and eats aluminium
Best thing is probably the right tool for the job...a reamer

Went for the flappy-wheel thing in the end, worked a treat and took about 5 seconds.
Outlk's brake cylinder hone +1.
I use a flex hone for seat tubes.
