Yes another injury.

Painful wrist when riding, ok most of of the time but benefits from extra support. Any recommendations?

I have looked at the 661 wrist supports. One is called wrap the other something else. I don't get the difference.

Loads  of other braces look like they have  bit that would make holding handlebars difficult.

I have been eyeing TLD wrist support (5205 wrist support) which should be designed for riding but haven't tried it. Using sports tape at the moment but it is bit difficult to do it properly - I usually have the tape roll in backpack and use it only when I can no longer ride without.

I use the one of these:

Works for me, doesn't get in the way of holding the bar or anything and does a great job of supporting the wrist for very little money.

A lot of the guys in motocross including pros - are using the Fasst Flexx bars - bars that use elastamers to flex a bit more in one direction - they are now making a mountain bike bar. Have a look into that perhaps? They supposedly help a lot with wrist injuries, carpal tunnel and arm pump.

Before anyone mentions elastomer suspension stems and laughs, the bars get rave reviews from the magazines, forums and are seeing pretty wide use amongst racers.

Interesting thanks. Size chart on the 661 doesn't seem to exist. Any ideas on size.?

Tld ones definitely look good.

Demon Flexmeter snowboarding wrist guard form me post plated comminuted fracture. I wore it for a year. Eventually wore out, but defintely served its purpose. I went OTB in a road race wearing it and landed on my wrist OK

A wrist brace is a short term fix, improving the strength the muscles around the wrist joint is a worthwhile long term plan if you want to avoid future injury nastiness! 🙂

For the 661 brace, I have quite small hands/wrists and fit the medium size I believe, I'll check when I get in. I'm also usually a s-m in gloves.
