My parents got some of my old World Team Champs medals framed for me.
Really rather pleased with them.😁

I got a scarf off/via Hebtroco
(P.s Brant, I'm not really a scarf guy. Can I exchange it for a beanie? 😉)

bikerevive sed> and I’ll sober

Not totally convinced by this statement.

Best: Private Eye sub.
Worst: not applicable
WTAF: mention you like something just the once and then every single year... Jagermeister in my case. Enough to see me through 'till next year, which I'm more than happy with.

Yep same here. In our extended family the kids get presents and adults buy their own stuff.

Best: the money to refurb my dad's old watch.
Worst: vanish carpet powder to go with;
Wtaf: a mechanical push sweeper. I found the Eddie izzard sketch about one very funny about 10 years ago. Got bought one as a present and missus thinks it's quite good, but not as good as the Dyson thing we have.

No crap pressies, no close family to speak of, only my brother and his wife who gave me money, my g/f gave me a rather fun large hedgehog made from steel to go into the garden, and from some friends I got beer, a whole box, eight bottles, from Black Sheep Brewery, and some from Fornum & Mason.
😎

Best: all my presents we're good but the picture my brother in law did of us (me, wife and my two girls) really got me this year. We don't always see eye to eye and have our fair share of disagreements but everyone has had it tough to some degree and I'm really missing seeing the extended family this year. To know he took time out to paint it nearly made me cry.

Worst: nothing

WTAF: all my presents were pretty spot on

Best: Lego Technic Porsche

Worst: Nothing bad this year, but then only a handful of presents.

WTAF: Had some bizarre ones in the past but nothing in that category for 2020.

Best: wife has said we can get a ps5 when we can find stock

Worst: some LED lamps

WTAF: this from the father in law. Not only is it absolutely awful it looks like it has been in his garage for years and a mouse made it’s home in it previously due to the nesting material in it. It had to go in the bin I am afraid - wife was afraid the mouse might still be in it!

Best: A copy of Botchan, which my pretentious ass added to my uk.bookshop.org wishlist but which has proven to be more entertaining and considerably funnier than I expected. 🙂

Worse: As us Pondos stick to a limit and treat ourselves to a break away, losing that break sucks major ass. Ho hum - got a roof over our heads, food in the fridge, and much to be grateful for. 🙂

WTF: A very nice bookmark - but given that I'd bought Mrs Pondo a multi pack of less nice bookmarks (she said she wanted some!), it can only make I laugh. 🙂

Best: Huge box full of cheeses, pickles, biscuits, homemade liquor’s, chillies of all variety’s, fancy crisps, nice chocolates, beers, wine, apricot sponges & a Tee shirt with "Carolyn says it’s alright" on it.
That made me cry a bit as it was from her sister.

Worst: Nothing

WTAF: Nothing

My second Christmas without Carolyn was a bit less awful thanks to her sister & family.

Best: a new diffuser thingy from my MiL. Last one packed up and I couldn’t repair it. Really lovely surprise.

Worst: Daddy Pig pyjamas. I ****ing hate Peppa Pig with a passion but my daughter will love them.

WTAF: Same as worst 😀

Best: A fleece lined shirt from BAM clothing - quite possibly the comfiest thing I’ve ever put on.
Worst: A phone case for an iPhone 11 Pro Max. A phone which I don’t own. 😂
WTAF: A furry monster hand ice scraper!
RM.

Best:- close between a Sonas One as it was unexpected or a Montane Extreme Smock which I picked but is an awesome piece of kit.
Worse:- Tough one, but I love my rum and spend a lot of money on decent rum, wife bought me a Kracken....it was nice of her to think of it though.
WTF:- Comedy present from my 13 year old who is developing a real sense of humour. She got me a gravy boat! I’m a northerner living down South (Liverpool, yes I know it’s not really North) and it’s a family joke that I love gravy on everything.

Best: son's enthusiasm for his new bike, despite the fact it's a bit big for him and he's not even 3 yet.
Worst: All the family members who sent the gifts direct to me unwrapped. I am terrible at wrapping.
WTF: The very lovingly packaged jars of home made beetroot chutney that had nevertheless exploded inside their box. I am amazed that none of it made it to the carpet.

Worst: either the racing turkeys or the dancing/singing Christmas tree*
WTAF: as above

Can I just enter one category please?

Worst/WTAFF

Father in law bought our children a drum kit and keyboard/stand/stool etc. 😳

Our 6&9 non musical children in a non musical SMALL house with nowhere to put them. As in, we literally couldn't put them up.

Apparently he was advised strongly that this was madness but wasted all this money.

Our son is utterly bemused. He was dropping all these hints how he wants videos of them learning.
Yes mate, I'll make time around working and our family activities to learn and teach kids how to play crap chinese made instruments.

We don't know anyone who can teach our kids, they don't want to learn. I'm not engaging with this bullshit. They're going straight out the house still boxed.

I've read these threads before smug that we don't have to deal with such crap but little did I know it was being saved up to drop on us in one big hit. 🤦🏻‍♂️😔

I'm absolutely furious.

Giving wise... I sent my Mum a acid etch of her old dog on bronze.
Didn't have time to frame it but she put it on a "plate stand".

Nothing bad.

Best. I write a list that Mrs Noise then distributes out, so I can't complain about anything I got really, but my favourites are a Lomography build it yourself 120 camera with a liquid filled lens and an E+M leather bound clutch pencil.

Worst. Whatever virus (don't think it was THAT one) it was that knocked me over Christmas Eve and meant Mrs Noise had a solo Christmas Dinner while I lay on the sofa all day either shivering or sweating.

WTAF. Nothing really, other than the in-laws going off list and buying me some bike shorts and a jersey. The shorts are decent enough baggies, but they've teamed them with a skinny fit roadie jersey that doesn't match my riding or my physique... At least they're both black so they got the colour right.

Highlights for me were

A car bike rack
Japanese whiskey
A kettle bell.

Also got lots of flooring for the garage-gym.

Worst: Off road cycle routes, in a box. Use GPS. Not a gravel rider.

WTF: Radiator keys

Chuffed.

Wtaf: 71 basically fake biscuit versions of chocolate bars, I mean seriously?

Best - bottle of The Lakes single malt, just trying it now and it's really good.

Worst - Google Stadia controller, not bad per-se but I asked for the premier pack so I could play it on the big 4k TV which the controller on its own won't do. So I've had to buy the premier pack anyway which leaves me a spare controller which will likely never get used.

WTAF - a load of black and rose gold kitchen stuff such as kettle, toaster etc. In fairness I did ask for this so I do know WTAF it's for but seeing it all piled up looks excessive!

I had some great gifts this year and at the risk of seeming ungrateful, this is my WTAF.

Best - Sole present was a tin of Quality Street so I suppose that!
Worst - I’m not a massive QS fan!
WTAF - Some secondhand tinsel, a pair of binoculars and one slipper (too small) which my daughter recieved from my uncle!

It’s a cliche but I wasn’t bothered about stuff for me, amazes me and does make me envious the stuff some of you get tho! But my daughter was happy with my Santa effort so that will do!

I'm also going to add, not meaning to humble brag/ virtue signal etc.

I felt really good when I gave all the money that would otherwise have been spent on Secret Santa, the work 'Christmas Do', travel to see rellies etc to Centrepoint.

Somewhere there are some kids having a slightly better time.
