You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
Bought a frame from Triton cycles on the 7th, they took the money and sent a confirmation of payment email but not had any other correspondence since. Confirmation email says that they will post the frame within 3-5 working days.
They're not answering the phone, haven't replied to my 'looking for an update' email, and have removed the message tab on their Facebook page and haven't used Twitter since 2018.
I know that covid has created a spike in sales and that keeping a 2m gap between people working in retail has slowed things down but should I be worried about the lack of response?
Assuming you paid by credit card, you've nowt to worry about anyway, but I'd keep trying to chase them up anyway.
I ordered a bench for the garden and after 10 days it hadn't arrived, so I called them. Turned out that the printout of our dispatch instructions had fallen on the floor and got missed! Fortunately, they still had stock and, after an apologetic phone call, we had it the following day. Sometimes, silly things can happen!
You're not the first noticing issues sadly ...

I guess it's quite apt that a company name that starts Tri should have three threads in close succession.
That's funny because when I did a search the other day I couldn't find anything since about 2018 and then most thoughts were pretty good. If they're not answering any of their calls, emails etc then there's not much I can do 😖
I've still not had any response to my communication with them

They're too busy raking in the cash to bother with answering the phone.
If they were upfront with me and said it'd be 10-15 days then I might still have placed an order as they had exactly what I was after. I'm just desperate to get building up my new bike but don't want to start buying stuff if I need to get another frame with different sized seatpost, bottom bracket etc
I ordered a dropper remote a month ago and it has still not been dispatched. I've since put in a second order for a saddle wondering if that would come first.
I'm usually pretty forgiving but their obnoxiously large "WE ARE OPEN, ORDERS WILL BE DELIVERED" banner is a bit of a piss-take. Their 3-4 day dispatch claim was updated 10 days after my order, so that's just a lie.
Meanwhile I have an open paypal dispute with Cycle Republic. Maybe I should just stick to Wiggle/CRC...
Wasn't their business model always to take money - order from their supplier - despatch?
So you're probably suffering for delays in them receiving from their supplier PLUS delays in them being able to despatch.
Also, given that everyone seems to be very low on stock it might be that they were advertising something that their supplier didn't actually have.
You have my sympathies either way, once you understand the Triton business model then you can adjust your expectations sufficiently, quite often you'll get a discount on good, current kit from them just because they're not holding stock, but the downside is that you have to wait...
Like others in all three Triton threads I ordered something from them which never arrived when stated, my email querying it's whereabouts went unanswered!
It just turned up this morning, hope this helps folk who are concerned.
I ordered something from them on 17th May, only low value (£10) but sent 3 messages last week asking for an update, none of which were responded to. I'd basically written it off but it eventually arrived yesterday.
Thanks nigew & warns74, means there is hope after all!!
Hallelujah! After my 4th email chasing Triton cycles they have posted my new frame and it is due to be delivered tomorrow. No direct reply to my emails, no explanation, no apologies. Just a confirmation email and a tracking code. I'll take that thank you very much.
So this afternoon I have been internet shopping and have bought all the parts for the build, just need to take delivery and build it up now (as well as the additional procurement of the inevitable part I forgot to order).
Happy days.
I had similar recently, but found that they did reply to direct messages sent on their website.
Emails, phone- nada
After claiming a low value item had been dispatched twice, but never arrived, they refunded.
Seem shambolic.
I’ve used them loads of time and they’ve always been very reliable - everything has been sent out by DPD.
Clearly something’s amiss at the moment though so hope it’s just a blip.
It's a pretty big blip. I'm waiting on day 40 now, 1000% longer than they advertised. Just give me an option to cancel the order and I will quit moaning. Should be straightforward when nothing's been dispatched right?
I was about to order some forks from them. Seem to be others complaining on twitter, review sites ( https://uk.trustpilot.com/review/tritoncycles.co.uk) etc. Seem to have deleted comments on their facebook page. Time to find somewhere else i think
I had a pair of pedals ordered on the 5th that were in stock and on their way with delivery by the 19th I guess I should have realised that they were not in stock and would be ordered and then sent to me.
They hadn’t turned up but also I realised I had ordered the wrong ones (needed MKS ezy version that can be removed by sliding a collar round the pedal for my brompton)
Left the phone ringing for ages and finally spoke to somebody, they were actually quite helpful and said they would check with warehouse and refund if not dispatched or call back if they were, and to just refuse delivery rather than send back.
I was refunded straight away.
Should have just ordered from starbike in the first place but at least they actually dealt with the issue once I contacted them.
Just make a cup of tea and have something to read if you do decide to call them though...
I've used them before and the frame bag I ordered wasn't in stock. They seem to not put any effort into updating their website with actual stock levels. After emailing and calling a bunch with no answer I finally got someone first thing in the morning and the guy was really sound and refunded it on the call but I got the impression that was only because the guy had nothing else to do at that time.
Finally got an update on day 53 since my order! No, it still hasn't been dispatched...
I sent an refund request via their web form a few weeks back which was not acknowledged in any way. I've previously tried ringing loads and it would just ring endlessly until it gets cut off after about 60 seconds.
Well today I tried ringing again but it didn't cut off as usual and I was on hold for 5-10 minutes. When they answered they agreed to cancel and refund it immediately. The chap sounded pleasant and offered a quick apology which I can't really accept but I didn't give him any grief.
It may be worth a try if anybody else is wanting a refund but had given up wasting their time like me. Or perhaps I was just lucky.
I just don't get it. It took all of what 30 seconds to cancel my order, if they made the process easier or actually read their emails maybe their comms wouldn't be so swamped?

Indeed - failure demand, who’d have thunk it. 🤦♂️
