I've been thinking recently that the hand/wrist position on my bars isn't the most natural, and stumbled across the SQ Labs kit. Anyone running more backsweep on their bars than "normal"? Current setup is Spank Vibrocore bars (which I might cut down a bit) and Ergon grips.

I'd also welcome any setup pointers to determine angles/bar width etc.

I have the 17 degree ,medium height bars and they feel just right.

On One Ogs are a bit too swept for my liking.

I've found that my wrists prefer more backsweep, but SQLabs bars look a bit on the expensive side.

I've got a pair of Stooge Moto bars on the Solaris and Salsa Bend 2 on the winter SS Bizango, both bars have 17 degree backsweep.

I have the 12 degree sweep SQlab and like them but they are expensive for what they are

I've been looking at SQ Lab and Syntace bars for a bit more sweep so very interested.

I have a pair of 30x 12° and 311 16°. I have wrist and shoulder problems and these bars help with both. I prefer the 16° bend. Though the 311 look s but whacky in pictures, they look pretty normal on a bike

On One fleegle do a similar job for a lot less money, though they are flat and a bit narrow.

edit: the salsa bend 2 doesn't offer the width of the sq labs bars.

I'm using SQ 302 Sport bars on my rigid bike with 16 degrees sweep. They are only intended to be used for trekking and are only 680mm wide but are lighter and cheaper than the MTB bars. They are definitely more comfortable than the bars that they replaced and I no longer have pain in my wrists towards the end of a 2 hour ride. The extra sweep does feel more natural but they also have more flex, which gives a softer feel over lumpy ground. I never had the same problems on my full sus bike on longer rides or more technical terrain and I use conventional bars on that. I expect the suspension reduces the impact on the arms.

So, I would say that the extra backsweep probably helps but more flexible bars and suspension do as well.
