Last night I went tubeless for the first time and this morning I still have two fully inflated tyres. Up until now I haven't bothered because;
a. No need - however new bike (genesis longitude) is a bit of a porker but I have 0.75 kg over night.
b. Horror story's - piece of cake following the video below. Admittedly my tyres were pre seated and my rims tubeless ready but I feel sufficiently confident to tackle all my bikes.
c. Cost of inflator - I didnt fancy spending £50 or £100 if tubeless wasn't for me and the coke bottle fire extinguisher methods looked beyond my technical expertise. However at £6.99 from Screwfix (down 30% ) I thought it was worth a punt.
7 litres of compressed air rushes in and seats the tyre perfectly. Note unlike in the video the pipe for pushing over the valve is attached inside the sprayer (it is the intended feed pipe) but it unscrews and reattaches to the valve using the existing bits in 15 seconds.
I saw this "Green Pressure Sprayer 7Ltr" and thought of you! https://www.screwfix.com/p/green-pressure-sprayer-7ltr/51100?tc=BA4&ds_kid=92700019785680000&ds_rl=1247848&ds_rl=1245250&gclid=EAIaIQobChMI4-Sf8ZjS2QIVTbXtCh3QjwdmEAQYASABEgL-cvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds&dclid=CISppvOY0tkCFdM-GwodRe0NyA
good shout!
Awesome. It's much cheaper and simpler than the one I made from an old welding gas bottle and some fittings.
If I didn't already own one I'd buy this instead. Or wait for the Milkit Booster to be released, which I may buy anyway for portability reasons.
yeah, cheers for the psa, just bought one.
Thanks. The Milkit one looks the business just needs a sachet of stans and you will be able to reseat tubeless on the trails
Looks good. TBH, I was expecting a thread full of dire warnings about exploding tyres.

There's also the tyre lever method; using that I've been just getting by with a track pump.
further update - Nanos on the Arkose now successfully converted to tubeless.
i must admit it was not without a bit of struggle. Amazed at how many holes were in the tyres - they have done a few rides but less than 1,000 and Stans was flowing. A couple of bigger holes needed the anchovy treatment but seems to have now sealed.
Anyone have a source of cheap tubeless valves as I have a few more bikes I need to convert? I have reviewed the now redundant collection of old tubes with the intention of chopping out the valves but they are mostly the non removable core type.
Sweet, I've got one of those so gonna give it a go.
Cheers OP.
7 litres of compressed air rushes in and seats the tyre perfectly.
21 litres assuming that the sprayer has a max working pressure or 3 bar.

7 litres of compressed air, 21 litres of Not-compressed air 😀
Am still not getting on too well with quotes 🙁

I also cut them out of old inner tubes. It does help if they have a removable core and I'm pretty sure a lockring is essential! 🙂
