****s sake.
Mrs first days back on the front lines today, she wouldn’t enjoy seeing that.
It’s not exactly reckless. Having had to spend the best part of a year sorting the affairs of someone who died without a will....I can tell you’re that if you’re not married to the person / people close to you then if something bad happen they are going to just have to look on while someone 200 miles away and who hasn’t seen you for 20 years is left to organise it all.
I’d say now is a really good time to think about a will, whether you’re in the front line of the NHS or stuck at home with more free time than you know what to do with.
Classy
tjagain doesn't stop winning this week
I work in Life Insurance and this is something that is on a lot of peoples minds.
We do will referrals too, and have never been so busy as we are at the moment with enquiries about will writing services.
I am sure Farewill would rather offer the NHS staff PPE or whatever, but as they are a will writing company they don't have any, so they are doing what they can - offering the service they provide for free.

We're now offering a free will to all NHS staff. In the last few weeks, we've seen 12 times more NHS workers using our will service than usual, so we wanted to do our bit to help. Simply go to http://farewill.com/nhs and sign up with your NHS email address to claim a free will.
It might seem insensitive, but it's a necessary service, one which NHS staff and other folk may already been thinking of, and it may prompt some to think about it, which is a good thing and may help them ease their worries about the future. There's no 'classy' way of bringing up this subject, and it's a generous offer by Farewill.
We sorted out wills and stuff in January. It's something we've been meaning to do for a bit, but this current situation gave us a nudge.
My wife is Doctor and the current situation has really emphasised the need to get our wills sorted. It's one of those things that we keep intending to do but never get around to it.
Just checked the Farewill website and there is nothing on there about waving the fees for NHS staff though.
One of my colleagues came back from a planning meeting about 6, maybe 8 weeks ago and the first thing she said was "has everybody written a will?" 🙁
As above, no point beating around the bush with this. Anyone with any assets who cares where it goes in the event of life going pear shaped needs to get a grip and write a will. A simple will ("if I die i want x to get nothing and the cats home to get it all") needn't cost anything at all as long as it's witnessed and dated. And the people who need to know, know where it is.
Interesting interview on C4 news just now with a member of staff at a hospital in Wales (I missed the start so didn't catch who .... but his words echo'ed Crikey's post on here so closely I really thought it might be him):
While we've been bracing ourselves for a disease that will most heavily effect the elderly he said ALL their admissions are between 20 and 50.
I asked Farewill today, you just sign up using an NHS email and the will is free.
There isn’t a code to use or anything. I
Struggling to see the issue here and very tempted to take a look at using it.
I'm also struggling to see the problem here.
After years of saying we really must sort a will out as we're not married the current situation has final kicked us into action.
Think I will also be signing up for that. Wife an I are separated and no Will in place yet. Best to be pragmatic.
Link added for those who like are interested in the offer.
@nealglover @Drac
Thanks for the info and link. That's this evening's 'entertainment' sorted.
I think it’s a great idea. Mrs D is a nurse and we’ve gone as far as getting a well drafted but not moved it on so will look into this.
As others have said it is not insensitive. It’s reality and sorting out an estate, even as a married couple, without a will can be problematic.
FYI Scotland and NI residents (well anyone out with E&W) they don't cover you, despite all their blurb about how they are the best in the UK.
