That's a really good deal, especially with the 2 batteries.

It's £160 at Toolstation.

OP - Is your log in a Steinbeck reference?

1.5 Amp Hour batteries.

15 Amp Hour batteries would be a bit unwieldy...

Good bit of kit. I paid 140 quid for it with 2 batteries and an impact driver.

1.5ah batteries plenty for DIY use and keep the unit light.

I have a 5ah battery(from my cordless grinder) I use in the drill when I'm doing heavy work away from power and it makes it heavy heavy.

The charger alone is 30 quid and a battery is 18

So it's a stotter of a price.

Wow! I reckon that's a pricing error and wouldn't be at all surprised to have my order cancelled...

Thanks for the heads-up, @oldtennisshoes

That is a very good offer, will be the slow charger rather than the fan assisted faster version.

Just reserved 1 to pick up in branch on Tuesday.

If my Google fu is correct the charger should be model No AL1820CV, which according to its manual is a 45 minute charge for a 1.5AH battery.

I dont actually need 1 but at this price its too good to resist.

I'm not impressed with the drill tbh.
Lacks grunt.
The batteries and charger are excellent - as is the impact driver

Think that's what i have. I got it at screwfix on a discount iirc and paid somewhere about £100...maybe more. When i needed an impact driver a year or so later I ended up buying a package to get more batteries and that had another drill! really don't need a third (or a third charger) but tempting just for the batteries!

Ordered for the batteries. I will punt the bare drill on Ebay.

I bought one of them a few months ago. It's not an error, just a good deal on a decent tool it seems.

Picked mine up on the way to site this morning. So far so good, plenty of torque, comfy in the hand, but not light. I've been putting off getting a new combi until my elderly pair of Bosch green(no hammer) gave up, but at that price it would be daft not to. Should do me for everything except when the big SDS comes out for the core drill.

Picked mine up too today - solid bit of kit. I can now retire the ageing Dewalt combo which cost £100+ more than 10 years ago.

I tried registering and ordering, but it comes up with the following

"We are unable to process your registration at this time. Please contact support if this problem persists."

🙁

Actually it seems batteries for Bosch are getting cheaper. A quick Google and I found 3.0 AmpHr ones for £29, so I shall resist buying the drill. It's a good deal though.

That does seem cheaper, last two I bought were

Collected mine this morning and the guy asked where I'd heard about the deal as they had a spike of 25 orders for them over the weekend (presume online orders) 🙂

Won't be Bosch at that price, I'm sure they're OK but a bit like laptop batteries, the quality isn't the same.

Seems a good deal but put-off by 1.5Ah batteries.... I'm going to be using it for DIY ie screws, drilling and some masonry. How long do the 1.5Ah batteries last if pushed hard and what's charge time?

Been after a decent cordless drill for ages, this should fit the bill nicely. Ta for the PSA.

£28 for Bosch...it says.

With 2*1.5 AmpHr you can go pretty hard and one charges as the other runs, they charge fairly quickly.

How long do you feel you need ?I'm confident it won't be an issue for a DIY user.

It's never been an issue for me and they have seen heavy use.

Not sure what's wrong with the chap above who's drill is gutless as it's certainly on par with dad's DeWalt xrs and Makita XLT. His Hilti gun does crap on it but that cost alot.

TBH I wouldn't generally use a cordless drill for masonry type stuff, I've got a decent corded Bosch drill for that sort of work.
