Brief review on https://www.dcrainmaker.com/2018/11/power-meter-buyers-2018.html
Never heard of these guys, anyone any experiences with this system?
Looks interesting product for the money, DC rainmaker's review was not exactly glowing but worth a punt at that price. They do only fit a limited number of cranks (not mine sadly)
No Bluetooth but a bargain at that price. I’ve taken a punt.
Thanks OP
Same as Jonnyboi. Gone for it at that price.....
I’ve ordered or for an XT crank. I’ll see if it’s any better than my Stages.
Am I missing something? I can't see fitting to a xt crank as one of the options on the drop-down menu. Just road cranks.
Got mine today, anyone else?
Seems excellent for the money, got it paired with a garmin pretty quickly and also my training app. Will report in after a test ride or two
I emailed and asked, they were happy to do it to an XT crank arm.
Yes, I chatted to them too/sent a pic and have now sent my wife's old xt crank off. Should be back next week.
Basically any crank with a flattish back surface is what they need.
So then, how are folk getting on with this? Mrs Yak is having a few issues in this weather with wildly inaccurate readings relating to the crank getting down to the outside temperature, even if the bike is left outside first for 15mins, then calibrated. Same if the ride is say 4 or so deg then she hits some freezing fog -massive power spike. Either way there's always 15-20mins of every ride that is useless data. Avio suggested recalibrating mid-ride. Is this what you all do as well? Seems a faff.
Mines been pretty good on the MTB, no major issues. I haven't done any major temperature changes on it though.
Ok. Just checking, do other power meters self adjust for the cold/ temperature changes or do they also need re-calibration mid ride?
My Stages, Power tap and Rotor all self calibrate for temperature changes - or at least I've not noticed random power spikes with them.
Thanks.
