Just ordered the 29" 160mm travel Yari and the price had dropped to £139! Shame to be benefitting from Wiggles' troubles but hey, what a bargain. Too good to be missed.

So I wanted a gear hanger for my £130 Vitus singlespeed, just in case.

The hanger was £9.99 and I was looking for something to add to the order to get free postage.

I've now ordered a set of Yari forks for £139 just to get free postage. Man maths at it's finest 😂

Just asked in Wiggle's chat but they won't price match the earlier price to the £20 reduction. Just luck I guess - still happy with the £159 price!

Get another one and send the first one back. In fact you could probably sell the first one for £200 in the spring to make the second one £100 or so.

Thx for the PSA. I put one in the basket at £159 and within seconds, and before I had the time to check out, it went down to £139.

Can the 29 version be extended to 180mm travel? I think since the Zeb was introduced, the Lyrik is max 160mm but these look like a slightly older version.

Good PSA. Thanks.

Don't need them right now, but they'll be cool for a possible 2024 project and price too good to pass up.

I think these are the older ones with more range. That said the Zebs are very cheap too.

Those deals are crazy. That's nearly the price of a basic service if you are posting forks off.

The ultimates are an even better deal I reckon.

@whatyadoinsucka

I had Zeb R's. They basically have no compression damping at all. OK for pootling etc (which to be fair is what a lot of people use ebikes for) but anything techy and aggresive and they are rubbish. You can upgrade with the latest damper though.

@horatiohufnagel, is that Zeb R really that bad?

I was eyeing one up to replace a 5yr old Yari RC with a Charger 2.1 RCT3 damper upgrade, as I fancy the stiffer chassis at 160mm (or possibly 170mm) on my Geometron. Do you think I'd regret it, unless I then also added a Charger 2.1 or 3 damper? (at an extra £250-300).

Can the Yari RC 160mm be adjusted to 130mm?  Looks like it can by changing the changing the airspring.

Would it be a worthwhile upgrade to Gold 35 RL on a Scandal.  Needs a service kit anyway so seems like a cheap upgrade.

They've got dozens of those 27.5 lyriks so they might go even lower, or back up again, that's the gamble, already a ridiculous price. Best thing about these is they can be upped to 170/180mm without going the extra 300g of a Zeb.

Thinking I'll put it on a bike I'm going to be selling, so that I can keep the fork it currently has.

Similar thinking's led me to buying 'bargain' wheels and other bits so I can keep the good stuff from a bike I plan to sell next year. Problem is I've now almost got enough to build an entire extra bike...

Yeah, pretty confident you can use a Yari/Lyrik/Pike airshaft to drop to 130mm travel.

Stick the serial number in the RS app when it arrives to confirm.

Zooming in on that lyrik top cap tells me it's not an ultimate, hopefully it's just for illustration purposes, and those green decals are coming straight off, getting some eBay specials for £6.50 in a more suitable colour 🙂

I very much suspect they're incorrect photos - I've zoomed in on the cheap Zeb Rs and on that one there's a compression adjust dial which that fork shouldn't have.

Slight hijack but I have an unused C1 140mm air shaft taken from a brand new Pike Ultimate if any good to anyone for a favourable price 😉

@a11y yes it's bad. Check the diagrams on rockshoz site. They've removed the compression damper from the RC model. They dive too much so I tried to compensate with fast rebound and higher pressure but it's not ideal. I ended up upgrading to the bladder type damper from a select plus Zeb.

The Pike/Revelation airshaft does not fit the Yari/Lyrik chassis, they are different diameters.

I’ve bought the Lyrik Ultimate 29 160mm and will need to lower the travel to 140mm or 150mm. £350 with next day delivery is a bargain.

But why is it so hard to work out which air shaft to buy? There seems to be 3 options, one is red and grey, one is red and black, and (I think a Debonair plus) is gold 🤷‍♂️

I think I’ll wait until they arrive and just take out the air shaft to see what it looks like before ordering another

Dont fall for it. 3 days from your order they'll put up a Zeb for 300.

Thanks to these sales, and my complete lack of self control, I've bought a 36 rhythm 29er,a factory 36 27'5, a lyrik select 29er, a pike select+ 27.5, and I really really dont need another fork, besides, the Yari is and always was a £300ish fork, pretty much the budget line.

Spend a bit more and get something better.

@dyna-ti How much were the 36 Rythm at their lowest price? Or should I not know?

At the time I paid £379 though that was July from Merlin cycles and before other better deals came around. The 36 factory was £310, the lyrik was £239 and the pike was £213

I bought the 36 rhythm as a swop out for the 36 rhythm that came on the ebike, im guessing that after 3 years of use A. it needs a change and B. 380 is a fair price.

@horatiohufnagel thanks.

I doubt I’d be happy with the basic damper in a Zeb R. Factoring in a replacement Charger 2.1 or 3 damper it’s still an ok deal though. I’ve been half-looking for a Zeb on and off, price isn’t too bad.

That zeb R 29er 170mm 44offset is down to a stock level of 8, 21 in stock at 7pm last night

in terms of upgrade is the £40 air shaft listed on crc an upgrade ? Or same internals

and to upgrade to a 2.1 or 3 am I looking at £300-345 ? So still cheap compared to £950-1100 for the ultimate on sale

sorry I have limited knowledge of big rockshox ;0) and have been toying with a bigger fork for tougher enduro days ,

1 Zeb remaining @ 9.27am. I folded and ordered one for myself earlier (that's in addition to the £139 Yari that started this discussion, and is arriving this morning with Evri). Oops.

and to upgrade to a 2.1 or 3 am I looking at £300-345 ? So still cheap compared to £950-1100 for the ultimate on sale

I'm waiting until mine arrive so I can put the serial number into the RS Trailhead app and see exactly what part numbers I need for a 160mm airshaft and - highly likely - a Charger 2.1 or 3 damper. Too many variants for me to feel comfortable ordering the right bits until I have that serial number to determine the exact Zeb variant these are. Even at £550-600 with upgraded damper it's still a good deal vs the best price of £900 I've seen for an Ultimate.

OEM ones or I've used https://www.ebay.co.uk/str/swarmmtb recently for older forks - quality is great, no idea about durability yet.

The Lyriks

14T1465056

Number is incorrect, missing one number.

Tried 0,1,2,3 etc and coming up with the info for a 160 ultimate lyrik, but which exactly ?? Unless of course you dont want to put up the exact number.

Ebike approved anyway, which is the only info I was interested in.

I'm going to end up with every friggin fork in the RS range 🙄

Whats the difference between the Lyrik RC and RCT3?

Looking at the service manuals and the only difference i can see is the air spring seal head being taller on the RCT3.

I have a fair few pike A1 airshafts which ive had a fair few years tall and short seal heads which look the same anyone any ideas if they'll fit the lyrik?

Strongly suspect it's just a normal fork that they're saying is approved for eebs.

I had that Lyrik Ultimate with the Charger 2.1 and it was a brilliant fork. Just had to stay on top of the lowers servicing to keep it feeling supple.
