You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
Any other Suunto users out there? I've had an Ambit 3 for the last few years and the other day I migrated from the movescount app to the Suunto App. I went to plan a route today and found that there's no associated web app to suplement this. This means if you want to plan routes now you have to do it on your phone/tablet which seems a little crazy! Any thoughts/workarounds from other Suunto users? I've moaned on the Suunto forum but it's quite horrific to use so I thought I'd come and see what people think on here...
[I haven't already said that!]
finally! no idea what on earth was going on there!
Main reason I got ride of my Ambit 3 and went back to Garmin. The app was terrible.
You can revert back to Movescount. That’s what I did. Suunto app still lacking options to change sport settings etc too as far as I am aware. Hoping that the suunto app will improve before they get rid of Movescount.
it's been a little dire recently
I have an Ambit 3. Unfortunately they're not supporting it really. I migrate back and forth between SA and Movescount, depending on what I'm doing. But it is rubbish. It's put me off moving up to a more modern Suunto.
Don't know if you read this https://www.dcrainmaker.com/2019/01/suunto-announces-decommission-plans-for-movescount-platform-impacting-some-watches.html but it's helped convince me that it's not really worth sticking with Suunto
Just waiting till wahoo bring something out, or i may just get a Coros.

It can make those changes for the Spartan range, though I did loose mine when I undated the firmware!
Edit, they aren't lost, just the defaults I deleted have reappeared.
They do have a Web app called sports tracker but the navigation is worse than moves count (unless you just want to map your run).
It does seem like Suunto no longer support real navigation, where there are no footpaths and where you want to upload a route with named way points.
If you really want proper navigation I'd look at a Google gear type watch and buy the ViewRanger app for it.
Yeah I read the DC Rainmaker thing, it was his review that convinced my wife and I to buy ambits! Just seems crazy to junk a watch for the software, surely fairly terrible for eco credentials/brand loyalty. Hopefully they’ll do something about it if enough people complain...
I gave up on the app last week. It stopped sending data to Strava. So I'm back on Movescount. That does everything I want including charging the watch. Can't say I'm happy. It's not like they aren't still selling Ambit3s. Does the app allow gps upload?
The Strava issue last week was annoying. Especially as I'd not setup linking to endomondo as a backup yet. Seems to be working now.
The app needs work but does most of the things I want.

Indeed it can. But sadly not for Ambit3 yet 🙁
If Movescount is closed then there is currently no way to edit settings on the watch. It does however sound like Suunto are listening to the strong feedback and working on a way to keep it working.
I think they will lose a lot of customers if they don't sort it.
