You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
After spending my 20's & 30's travelling round European cities on stag-do's just to drink all day/night (coke & hookers obv) - it's now my turn.
But I wanted something different, so 14 of us have booked to go to Morzine for a long weekend - arrive in the village at noon on a Friday and leave last thing on the Sunday night.
I've been there biking there a couple of times but that was over 10 years ago - so whats changed? What should we do? Which bars should we be seeking out? Which activities should we be looking at - hydrospeeding seems to be a popular choice in our group as noone has done it before.
We won't have transport once we're there - be nice to do something local late Friday afternoon (an activity I mean) and we want to spend the full day on saturday doing some adrenaline fuelled fun - rest of the time will be spent doing general stag-do type things
We're all pretty similar - as in late 30's (apart from me, slightly older) - want some fun/scary things to do - like live music - like beer - like coke and hookers
So, help?

There's good Via Ferrata in Avoriaz (easy to get to) and St Jean d'Aulps (Balad'aulps bus €1.50 e/w from Morzine)

Bars
Avoiding the usual suspects like the Bar Robinson, Rhodos, Dixie etc. I like Bar Chez Roger (Rue de Bourg) and the Cavern bar ( https://www.cavernbarmorzine.com/home/ ) has some live music
Congratulations & good luck
This is exactly the sort of response I was after -much appreciated Stoner 🙂 I'll be spending the rest of the working day having a look at these
You don't say when you're going - but check any interseason closures on anything. Not everything is open all year.
^ this though
^will do
Heading there Aug 3-5
Aug 3-5 is mid season, you wont have a problem with openings, just capacity. Book stuff well in advance if you can.
My recommendation, based on 100% of my experiences of stag dos in Morzine, is "be Dermot O'Leary". We were in a bar when his stag do rolled in and he was pretty much forced into having an amazing time. It looked very messy.
Don't drink Mutzig like normal beers.

One of our lads had his birthday in Morzine last year. From memory he was at least 10 pints of Mutzig in by the time we left Robbo's and went to Chez Rogers. We also made him down at least 5 of them
Amazingly he took it like an absolute champ

Jez, I've been left pretty 'tired and emotional' after 3 pints (approx as they REALLY didn't life selling them in pints).
I hear Bar Robbo has gone now?
No, Bar Robinson is still there. I think people got confused on hearing of the death of the matriarch that ran it a year or so ago.
Well - the time has come and head off there in the morning 🙂
Can anyone recommend somewhere to hire a bike for a morning - do they generally provide helmets & knee pads? Not sure how it works
Cheers
