Anybody got one of these machines? The price seems to good to be true
Currently £230 on Amazon and Currys (which I can get a further 8% back) for bean to cup machine. Not fused it doesn’t have a steam wand. Just want it to produce a nice double espresso
My now 6 year old Delonghi magnifica machine is coming to the end of its life with numerous faults developing so need a replacement
Will prob wait for the Boxing Day sales but this seems too cheap. After a bit of research Melitta seems the same as Delonghi that no matter which model you pick they all come with the same brewing unit so the coffee they will produce should be the same (as long as the grinder is the same)
I did have one, but overuse broke it - ive got a spare brewer unit you can have as a spare. They are a very good machine - they do double shots properly (i.e. not just twice the grinds with twice the water and burn the crap out of them like my delonghi does) - i miss my Melitta..
edit: the double shot thing - i.e., press a button, it will do 1 grind, 1 brew then pour, then immediately repeat for the second, as opposed to dumping double the grinds in a brewer and forcing hot water through the grinds for twice as long resulting in horrible burnt coffee.
bargain, i paid £500 for mine years ago!!!!
If you're in the Civil Service you can buy a pre-loaded gift card at 6% off making the Curry's one less than £220! Bargain.
I know thats the tempting thing! I get 8% extra off Currys through work if i buy gift vouchers to spend instore or online.
So less than £210 delivered
Very tempted but i still think i'm going to wait till Boxing day
I have the melitta barista. Great coffee, and OK bubbly milk... I think not as good as a proper steam wand with associated skills.
that's true the steam wands on the cheaper mellitta models are pony, but then who cares it's the coffee that's important. I very much doubt you will get it cheaper than you can manage come boaxing day, especially with the various codes etc you'll already use..
