Also RIP Mac Miller. Gone too soon.

yep. Still a superb version of a great track.
the baseline that launched a thousand raps (learnt to play this on a stand-up bass)...
Bass...
2 of my all time faves from back in the day. Turn them up loud!
Pressure dub is an incredible track. Remember the first time I heard that out. Made me stand still for like 3 minutes
L-Tric, The way you are - Tom Staar re-mix.
Probably one of my favorite remixes

Kurupt FM classic
Many contenders from the same album:
@scaled Konflict mixed into Pulse by BC. used to enjoy mixing that one tell thee
+1 on Pressure Dub (but I'm not sure if I prefer the b-side)
i started playing bass about 4 months ago, I'm still no good but I'll be looking at some of these with interest.
But when it comes to music I like, and my days at the indie disco, the more I try to play his bass lines the more I realise that while Morrissey and Marr took all the credit for their writing and guitars, Andy Rourke (and Mike Joyce) were a formidable rhythm section.
A bass thread without Geddy? Not happening.
There's too many tunes to choose from 🤔😃
Only recently got into these.
If you have a good stereo in your car, this track sounds awesome. Subs bouncing stupidly and everything panning across the dash. (yes, I'm 47 going on 19 and love car stereos)
And a cheesy one

Not a bass line, but superb bass playing - Tal Wilkenfeld
Then there’s Auf der Maur

Dub FX
If I could play bass I’d form a band just to cover this song!
Was listening to this earliest today, great song, but wonderful bass playing:
if you can track it down, there was a great program (on Sky Arts maybe) about the Graceland album; interviews with Paul Simon, some of the musicians, the sound engineers and so on with access to the studio tapes to listen to the various parts. It's great for the stories but also just the sheer enjoyment of the South African musicians playing on the recording, including that bass part.
There's a few good albums in that series actually (Classic Albums)
This popped up on the phone today while I was in Bath - it’ll make the bass cones wobble!
That's more like it, we need to get this back on track before all the oldies fill it up with more bass guitar stuff!
Time for some reggae:
yeah, damn you oldies! 😆
Oldies return
Lemmy at his finest
Holllld tiiight Sam Binga! insiiiiide the riiiide!
This was on an old Ipod i found in the garage. charged it up and it was the first tune
First heard this thanks to the Tune Assoc thread. Nearly 9 years ago.. blimey. It is quite in your facial area.
And keeping the monochrome theme. This is new and... Sub.
wobble wobble
Housy... overlapping with the oldies, this has live bass 😀
What no Cream with Jack Bruce?
Surely a thread like this has to include one of the most recognisable and best bass lines ever??
Hmmm, obviously been too long since I tried linking to something in here
Righteous dub!
One of my all time favourite songs, love the wub wub wub
Squelchy
Was listening off ipod through apple phones and it was delicious. Somewhat lost through YT so you might need to turn it UP.
