Can anyone tell me what bearings I need to do a full replacement, F&R, on a set of these hubs?

Can't find details anywhere.

Thanks.

Chances are that you will need the splined ratchet ring removal tool to get the inner bearing out on the drive side,

if you take the bearing out, you should be able to read the details off the bearing ring. This will tell you what you need. As above, some of the DT systems require a special tool to access some of the bearings.

They use pawls I think on the E/M 1900s, not the star ratchet? Although maybe you still need the tool.

The 1900's are a pawl not a ratchet hub, so they use a different ring nut tool.

Any LBS that deals with DT should have it though.

Assuming it's NOT a 20mm front hub then the bearings are Madison part number HBDT806, they are a 6902 bearing and you will need 4 of them.

The inner hub bearing will actually just fit through the ratchet rin on a 370 hub. I say just, the bearing is 28mm diameter IIRC and the ratchet inner diameter is also 28mm!

Just be careful ordering the bearings without opening up the hub and actually checking. Last week I ordered some ceramic 6902 bearing for my dt 3 pawl rear hub based on the dt instructions but when I opened it up they were 6903’s. I was lucky because I nearly had some presses machined but managed to change the dimensions at the last minute. I think the change has been made recently to allow for 12mm axles

Thanks for the feedback. From Madison:

So with regards to bearings in your rear hub, there is x1 6902 bearing on the disc side and another 6902 on the driveside. These will be available on part number HBDT806. As for the freehub, if any of those bearings need replacing, it will be a case of replacing the freehub completely. This will be available on either HBDT4193 (Shimano) or HBDT3869 (Sram). To access the driveside bearing, youll need to remove the ratchet ring with the DT tool. This is available on part number HBDT5266.

All of the above will be available to order through any of your local Madison dealers/bike shops accordingly.

Interesting. Been looking at the tools to remove the ratchet ring, but if it can be done without spending £50 then jobs a good 'un.

Also interesting. I thought it sounded a bit crap/wasteful having to bin the whole freehub if just the bearings are shot.

Pull the freehub body off and look at the DS bearing - if you can see the outer race clearly, then you don't need to remove the pawl ring. If you can't, you'll need to remove the pawl ring.

Bearings in freehub are pretty straightforward to replace.

I didn't have to remove the pawl ring on mine when replacing the 6903 bearings. You could clearly see the bearing was smaller than the clear hole through the ratchet ring and it popped straight through. My bearing was 30mm outer diameter.

Cheers guys. A mate has the tool, so will see how we get on with/without that this time before investing in my own.
