I'm looking at buying a 2016-17 Citroen C4 Grand Picasso - Flair spec.
Can anyone give me some feedback on this car's realiabilty and their general ownership experience of it.
Cheers
We have had 3 including the latest version and not had a problem with any of them. Just moved on from the last which was 3 years old and 50000 miles. Couldn't turn down a black Friday deal on a Tourneo Custom otherwise we would have stayed with it.
I'd try car reliability index to get dune actual stats

Friend said they more lease as owning had lead to big turbo bills. But I don't know if anecdotes help.
Not an owner, but as a member of a BCA Logistics team who spent at least a year traveling all over the south of England and up into the midlands in the back of one, with five other people, covering roughly 50k miles, if not more, and the car being hammered along motorways, dual-carriageways, and every other type of road, to within an inch of its life, without a peep, I have to say I was very impressed with it.
I’ve driven a lot of them, ex-Motability cars, and they’re really very comfy, very well equipped, but the entirely digital dash display might be a bit off putting, and the auto column-shift takes a bit of getting used to as well.
Not a car I’d own, because I have no need for something that big, but an impressive car. One caveat, if you look at one with the panoramic glass roof, make sure you check it thoroughly with the sunshade retracted - they can be cracked if a roofrack has been fitted and there’s been careless loading, and you really don’t want to know the cost of a replacement!
Where I work now, we do repairs and refurbishment of ex-Motability cars, and the two things we absolutely have to check for on arrival cars are windscreens and roof/glass roof damage, because of the cost of replacement or repairs. It’s eye-watering!
in the back of one, with five other people,
bit of interest here as im looking for a new 7 seater, how roomy are they? was one of them Warwick Davies? just I've 4 lads under 8, who are growing quick, we had an old Galaxy that was great, 2003? vintage, full size 3rd row, but it died and the newer ones we have as a pool car at work don't seem as big in the third row, - currently have a Scenic 7 seater of 2004 vintage, but im not sure how they ever got away with it, as my 4'6" eldest doesn't fit in the 3rd row
I’ve got a non-grand C4 Picasso. 16 plate, had it for 18 months and I really like it.
We have a galaxy but wanted a second car that’d return decent mpg, take the 2 dogs and have 3 isofix points in the rears. we didn’t need the 7 seater but I think they’re pretty much the same car.
We have the 1.6 blue hdi exclusive. The trim levels have changed now as you know. I average about 53 day to day .. got up to 59 on a long run a few weeks back visiting family at Xmas. It goes better than I expected.
It was in for a recall recently - needed a new master slave on the clutch. A known issue I believe. I’ve had to top the Adblue up a couple of times but it’s not difficult.
Overall - we like it. Comfortable, I like the panoramic screen. Would have liked the glass roof too but more ££ and there wasn’t that many around. It does what we need it to.
The wife really likes it . I’d have had a berlingo but the Mrs draws the line at that 🙂
We have a 16 plate Grand Picasso 1.6 diesel and it's been great. I've averaged 54 mpg.
We needed space for 4 adults and 2 kids 5&6, middle row of seats full size was a must and have proved comfortable.
its been faultless for 3 years but I'm going to change it in June because
unfortunately Citroen have decided to mess with the specs and the mid range I bought now has all the goodies at extra cost making it too expensive.
A couple of negative points, my kids don't like travelling in the rear 6/7 seats and there's no room for anything when those seats are up.
Also the trim is a little fragile in places but to be fair my kids are no respecters of nice things.
Don't really like my dealer either but that's not the cars fault but doesn't encourage me to give them my business again.
But on the whole it's been a very good car 9/10.
Matt.
I work for peugeot/citroen so bias aware!!!
latest model 2014> Are good cars overall, spec is personal/financial choice but as a rule of thumb diesel ether 1.6 or 2.0 is the ones to go for manual or full auto and saying that because they do an EGS option. Basically a 6 speed manual with electro/hydraulic Ecu to change gear and press the clutch.
Better fuel eco than full auto but not a smooth/refined gear change. And can have problems at 100000 miles ish needing expensive repaires.
Watch out for Ex motab or ex hire cars, both for extremes of driving cause particle filter issues.
If funds permit, the new peugeot 5008 7 seater really is fantastic in both looks and driving.
Father in law has one, loves it, no problems
Thanks all for your great responses.
Its a big decision for me, but I think the C4 Grand Picasso looks like the best MPV overall for my budget.
The only doubting question I have is will it be as realiable my current Honda and also a past Nissan that I have owned... a combined 12 years of zero faults!
Hmmm. Perhaps not relevant as it's a different model, but we've got a Citroen C3 Picasso and it's practical; a great small family car in that regard.
But reliability has been shit. I was really against buying a French car, but had heard several good stories and people saying it's all just hearsay, so was swayed.
Suffice to say it'll be the first and last Citroen I own.
The Richard Sanders dealer in Northampton was also shit. In fact, worse than shit.
Bloke at work though has a DS3 and a C4 Picasso (not sure if it's a grand or not) and he loves them. Nothing but praise.
It may be obvious, but I'd recommend a test drive on some roads with bends so that you can experience the handling at different speeds.
