Oh dear.
It'll be like watching Guns and Roses live.
Oh

What the actual god damned **** was that

Why?
Bogus!
2020 just keeps on giving. Although a time machine would be very handy
You know how shows like Little Britain have been taken off streaming services because hey were 'of their time' and should be left there?
A bit like that.
Although I'm secretly hoping it'll be awesome, but I don't hold out much hope.
seems so wrong, could ruin a great memory. "party on dude" from 50+ year old.
It could never match up to Bill & Ted 2!
Well the other were utter trash that was some how entertaining, this looks just as bad.
What's next, a Wayne's World remake?
I’m liking it.
John Wick has let himself go.
Well the other were utter trash that was some how entertaining, this looks just as good.
FTFY
I mean, it's not like originals were high art was it? I watched them in early primary school ffs.
I’m hoping it’s better than it looks.
I truly hope Keanu is deliberately bad in that trailer, otherwise this could be painful viewing. I'll still watch it though.
Does anyone have an example of something that came back after a long break like this and came anywhere close to the original?
Maybe we're all just older, maybe times have moved on. Whatever there reason, it never seems to quite work, no matter how much we hope it does.
Does anyone have an example of something that came back after a long break like this and came anywhere close to the original?
Helps if the original was ****
3? I don't think I can do infinity.
No way dudes... Way past it!
I hate to buck the trend but I reckon I might just enjoy that.
A self-consciously bad sequel to a pair of films that were themselves self-consciously bad...
What's the worst that could happen?
Does anyone have an example of something that came back after a long break like this and came anywhere close to the original?
Star trek?

Bladerunner 2049
2020 - the gift that keeps on giving!
Full trailer's dropped.
Looks like a remake of Excellent Adventure...
It’s going to be available on demand in a few weeks.
Most excellent.
available on demand
I demand it!
I'll be watching for old times sake. The originals are both stupid and funny.
Rufus on meeting Bill and Ted;
"You see, eventually your music will help put an end to war and poverty. It will align the planets and bring them into universal harmony, allowing meaningful contact with all forms of life, from extraterrestrial beings to common household pets. And... it's excellent for dancing."
Rufus on jamming with Bill and Ted;
"They do get better"
Great cast! Could be awesome...
I watched the Jay & Silent Bob Reboot the other day - it was amazing but was 100% in-jokes, made for fans & with no regard for anyone watching a KS film for the first time. Hopefully they've gone down a similar route with this!
What these people don't get is, to make a film 'so bad it's good' can only be done by accident. If you just make something crap, it's just crap.
What these people don’t get is...
Yawn...
It's just a film FFS. Some lazy 90s nostalgia that does nobody any harm.
Angry "franchise bashing" is really the territory of Incels vs star wars/star trek/marvel/DC/etc... Nobody should get animated over the "legacy" of Bill and Ted.
After watching the trailer my cheeks ached from smiling.
Loved the originals, will watch this and will love it.
San Dimas High School Football Rules!
There was one line in there which would suggest it's going to be their daughters write the song though, so I expect a reduction in the amount of screen time for Bill and Ted.
They should bring back Genghis Khan and Socrates and Napoleon from the first film and Station from the second.
“eat the pig, eat the pig ziggy zig”
Dont forget Beef oven 😉
bring back Genghis Khan and Socrates and Napoleon
It'd be good to see "Bob" Genghis Khan again.
Ted : This is a dude who, 700 years ago, totally ravaged China, and who, we were told, 2 hours ago, totally ravaged Oshman's Sporting Goods.
Napoleon wasn't much loved though;
Bill : You ditched Napoleon!
Ted : Deacon, do you realize you have just stranded one of Europe's greatest leaders in San Dimas?
Deacon : He was a dick.

This.
It could be great. It could be crap. But I'm glad it exists.
I so tire of butt-hurt (as you say) incels bleating away about how some piece of media has "ruined their childhood." The female-led Ghostbusters film had a degree of erupting fury that the Daily Express could only dream of, before the film had even been released. The thing is, even if a remake / reboot / sequel turns out to be rubbish (and god knows there's plenty that are), the original still exists.*
Doctor Who is probably the poster boy for this. With every successive regeneration the Internet lights up about how the show has been "ruined" before a single episode has aired. This isn't a new phenomenon, the Radio Times received reader complaint letters when Patrick Troughton was revealed.
(* - With the exception of Alien^3, that can get in the goddamn sea. I'm still cross about that.)
Yawn…
It’s just a film FFS
Yawn..
It's just an opinion FFS.
I dont care if it's a sequel, remake, franchise, whatever. It's just doesn't look any good. To me, obviously.
I'm in. If that's all the best bits then it's going to suck but it will suck while I have a beer in my hand so all is good
Looks great to me! 🙂
This review makes it sound decent.
This review makes it sound decent
It's been pretty well received - a decent score of 66* on Metacritic so is probably objectively not bad and at 88 minutes it's got me half on board already. Only you know whether it's for you or not, if you've decided already that you don't like it then I guess it's unlikely to be good enough to win you over. I doubt I'll rent it but I'll give it a watch when it hits a streaming service I subscribe to.
*BTW, Tenet is managing 69, so a broadly similar critical reception.
I found it entertaining. I was drunk. Those two facts may be linked.
Watched it last night.
It was ok, but not as good as the first two. I just couldn’t see past John Wick.
Im really liking Keeanu making fun of himself. Did you see “Always be my maybe”? a romcom I was forced to watch and enjoyed as Keeanu played “himself”.
Excellent Adventure and Bogus Journey are on C5 next week, I might inflict them on my children see what they think. My daughter is the same age I was when I saw the first one!
@fooman, one does not “inflict” those films on the younger generation, one educated them with cinema history!
Watched it a couple of nights ago and was disappointed. Had some decent bits but was a letdown overall.
I liked it. It's not Saving Private Ryan, but at least it had character development and no pointless vapid super heroes.
My elder son is just a bit younger than I was when I watched the originals. We watched this one together.
Sometimes context is everything, because that simple mirroring of my life and the characters lives (aging, family, etc) made it quite emotional for me.
Yes, it’s silly nonsense, but it was reasonably fun silly nonsense.
(please note, I have not been visited by a time traveler who gifted me a time machine)
