I think here in North Yorkshire we're one of the first places to get the Zzoomm full fibre broadband. They dug up the town to put the fibre in last year and it runs right past the front of my house. Now they're doing free install. It's a bit tricky to get from the foot path to my house so the install manager is coming on Friday to have a look.
Just wondered if anyone else had it installed yet and how they did it and has it been relaible?

Apparently, here in rural Aberdeenshire we're programmed to get in 2025. Scotland's Rural 100% scheme.

Yep, got the UFO fibre in York as part of the trial about 4 years ago. Talk Talk are our provider, never had a problem yet. Through lock down when demand was really high the slowest speed we got was 850mb/s.

I have Toob here in Southampton. Fibre all the way to the box under my desk. Seems fast, reliable and no degradation regardless of load.

I wish. Still waiting on our street being upgraded, supposedly it’s on the list.

Likewise I wish, our estate of 100 houses was built at the same time 20 years ago. They just installed half the estate with FTP but have no plans to do the rest. So a few people live literally next door to people who can get FTP but they (and us) can't.

Find out on the 16th March, looking forward to ditching virgin, although that's been painful in the extreme so far, resorted to posting them snotty letter to cancel.

Oh nice, 900Mbps upload. I have that much download speed but only about 70 up.

They've recently finished cabling our area and it sounds like they are starting to activate the first lines now. Some not so glowing comments on the local facebook group about poor customer service, no comms, etc. Not sure yet if this is just a poorly planned activation period, perhaps they are bringing people on too early (before the backend support is ready - the area doesn't show up on their status page for example), or a sign of things to come.

Had it for a year through zen isp, cityfibre network.

Been out for one day in that time, otherwise faster and cheaper than Virgin. 👍
