Does anyone here use the running side of Zwift. Been thinking about giving it a go but would mean investing in a footpod as I run Zwift on Apple TV but only have an Ant+ pod at the moment.
Is it worth it? Does it relieve the boredom of treadmill sessions like it does turbo ones?
(Other option would be a Ant+/BT bridge but prices look similar to a Zwift RunPod anyway.)
If your already a zwift user .
And have a good treadmill
Possibly.
I looked into it but to get a decent treadmill that can control pace(and hold a constant pace) + incline off zwift is big bucks.
And from farting around post kickr with doing it all manually on the bike.....the big draw to zwift for me is how the bike integrated with the program.
I was thinking more just for pootling about to relive the boredom rather than having it control the treadmill.
I run a non-smart turbo with power meter and don't find it too onerous to manually shift to increase output but yes, it would be more of a faff on a treadmill to do things like that...
I looked into it but a trail_rat said to get a compatible treadmill isn't cheap. And while the weather is okay and local trails are runnable i'll carry on outside, well as soon as my calf heals up.
It might be something I'll look into again in winter as I can't see gyms opening anytime soon.
I did the sixteen week half marathon programme in the run up to Feb, I got a load from it.
With cycling do you do the programmes or just races/group rides?
The footpod isn't 100% accurate but as long as you accept that it's pretty compelling and effective
