Who's doing it? No plans on becoming pro but quite like having something to aim for.
Maybe do some of the workouts, but at 19 stone with an ftp of 260w, I’m certainly not going to be winning, nor even allowed into the mandatory races…
never done it before, but I really must get my arse in gear so will probably have a crack 😃
Planning to. I did the last one and it did make a difference. Lost all that cycling fitness since though...
I signed up and am determined to do them all!
I've only been getting into Zwift recently. Did the ZwiftInsider Tiny Races on Sat and found it surprisingly more-ish. I did the ToW stage 5 race this morning. I'd like to get competitive in cat B rather than just hanging on. Kind of fancy a "4.0 [W/kg] at 40" push too (starting from ~3.4W/kg). [I remember there was a big STW on that but can't find it now. Hope everyone met their goals!]
I'm doing the last stage of the tour of Watopia this week. It's been my first go at racing on zwift and I actually look forward to it! Hoping this will be more of the same.
Signed up for the academy as it starts today. It’s just 6 workouts (plus 2 races) over a 6 week period? I’m sure it’ll help, but seems way less full on than eg one of the workout programmes with multiple sessions per week? Obviously you can do other bits around it, but they aren’t going to be structured. Or is the idea that you complete each workout multiple times maybe?
ZA2023 is nothing like last years. Having had a look at it I'll give it a swerve and choose a different training plan. It's like Zwift have done the very minimum required and aren't sure themselves.
I also recommend this channel for an analysis of ZA.
She did a great breakdown of each session last year.
I've done it twice before, the first time circa 2016/17 it was great with a lot of women chatting and group rides/chat. Seeing as the plan this time is just 6 faceless workouts and 2 races it's definitely a pass from me. It's a shame as it was a great chance to see other women who ride on there and all work to complete it and encourage each other on. Gotta agree with @scotroutes it's like they've done the bare minimum but maybe that's how zwift has gone now, they've given up getting people to engage on a personal level as people just go on to achieve their workout/goal and then turn it off.
I signed up but also relatively new to the whole thing and way too heavy to race as well.
@GolfChick - overall, I think there's just much more choice on Zwift than there used to be, so maybe it's just a reflection of that?
hmmm kind of makes sense I suppose if they've messed with the format. shame as group workouts are great for motivation I find!ZA2023 is nothing like last years. tbh I've never been that impressed with anything organised by Zwift themselves... the best & most social experiences I've had on Zwift so far have definitely been the STW member organised stuff! Some of the random Sunday morning recovery/easy rides that various clubs do can be very social also.they’ve given up getting people to engage on a personal level as people just go on to achieve their workout/goal and then turn it off.
