Has anyone done this? Was interested to see Paintwarrier on the gram use it for this purpose.
I'd always use a watered down emulsion previously but I've installed a warm roof in this room (Bathroom) it has 50mm ventilation with lots of airflow then 200mm PIR board taped then vapour layer, then green plasterboard so moisture transfer should be minimal but I'm looking at total belt and braces and have heard this helps to create a further barrier.
Anyone tried it and would recommend?
Would most definitely recommend. Turns old and flaky plaster into a bulletproof surface (well, kind of). One tin goes a long way and If using on a newly plastered wall, water it down
Perm of 26 so at least you're not creating a potential moisture sandwich as you might with other low perm sealers.
I've used it to seal out wallpaper adhesive residue and prepping poor condition drywall boards before skim repair. It lays down fairly well, takes a top coat well too.
Expensive though compared to a basic acrylic primer that will still allow moisture out
Ah, my thinking was it prevent moisture going into the roof space as a first barrier, I may just use diluted emulsion. It's fresh plaster not making good old
