Does anyone have a solution for removing “mix” music playlists from my YouTube feed?, I have dozens of them showing up despite never clicking on any such playlists and there is no way to click “block” or “not interested”, they are really ****ing annoying, especially as I pay for YouTube premium.
Do you listen to music on Youtube?- the 'mixes' are usually playlists the algorithm puts together from stuff you've previously listened to, rather mixes people have uploaded
But - next to the title of each video on YouTube - theres three little dots - click that and click 'Not Interested'.
You'll only get the 'not interested' option if its a YouTube generated mix, if its an uploaded one you also get the option to not get anything from that channel in your feed
Don’t really listen to music on YouTube, I use tidal/Apple Music

It’s the page of videos that show when you open the app or view in a web browser.
Example below of a screenshot as YouTube appears on my iPad, there is a “mix - rock” in top left and “greatest jazz pianist” in bottom right, I’ve never clicked/listened to jazz pianists in my life and certainly not on YouTube. It’s been showing up for days and does not go away.
Usually you can click on “block/not interested” but on these types of video that option is not available, if I scrolled down the page there are numerous other music mix videos and no amount of refreshing the page gets them out of my feed.
On the YouTube web browser on my iMac it’s even worse, out of the 18 thumbnails showing on screen 10 are for “mix” videos of music that I’ve never listened to.
Ive reported them as spam/abusive etc but they constantly show up…….from reading other forums there is some discussion of a rogue AI algorithm that’s ****ing up feeds as others have been reporting similar issues

Weird - in the case of a mix the I don't get those options. But then also - I typically only get offered one 'mix'. Maybe as a founding browser / frequent flyer you've unlocked some sort of special end of level YouTube boss and get mixes and buttons the rest of us don't. Some of my browsing history is jazz adjacent though so that also might be why as the one mix I do get always starts with'Ripped Apart by Metal Explosions' Galt Macdermot.
its not unheard of for Google / YouTube to offer different experiences to different users. The had a long running experiment where 1% of users were a control group and didn't get advertising-driven search results. They actually set it in motion - then forgot about it - so for years millions of users were getting a different version of google's service to everyone else. It was only when people who were paying for google ads started complaining that they weren't seeing their own adverts in vanity searches that Google realised the experiment was still running.
Maybe try logging out and/or using YouTube in private/incognito and seeing if things behave differently

I do watch a lot of YouTube as I’m sat on my arse all day/everyday in the house (spms…..i’m not a fat lazy bastard) so perhaps I’ve nearly completed YouTube and about to unlock the “master premier” tier.
I've logged out/cleared cookies/cache, restarted iMac/iPad then logged back in etc but same issues.
Oh well……guess I’ll have to live with it

I regret to inform you that YouTube is in fact approx 86% jazz - you've barely scratched the surface.
Although sometimes you'd imagine its actually 86% Korean street vendors artfully scrambling eggs given the feed I sometimes get.
When I click the three dots I get the not interested options so don't know what the difference is, but I suspect that if I bothered to click them they would just be replaced by other random shite.

Argh.......................as if my life isn't troubling enough......although at this precise moment with kidney infection/fever and 400mg of nitrofurantoin/day I could entertain a "brown jazz" habit to knock me out till its all over
If that's really what youre listening to I'm surprised there isn't something describe as jazz you'd like. Most of it is horrible, but a % is fantastic ( with nothing just meh).... try 'jazz bossanova mixes'

gilles Peterson is good, enjoyed his show for years and introduced me to good stuff.
I like YouTube mixes but it annoys me there's seemingly no way to shuffle songs within them if you're watching via a smart TV app

YouTube is now pushing pornographic headers into feeds, folk posting about on Reddit, one of the threads discussing it below but there’s many other threads as well with different headers. I’ve had a couple of them today.
