I've run out of YouTube content for bonkers but admirable stuff like Project Binky, Retropower, Harry Dwyer and various off grid, backwoods cabin builds. Currently gorging on Aquaholic and Fleming Yachts plus an array of round the world yachties, who frequently succumb to the Grand Designs pregnancy curse....

What's out there in YouTube land that is similarly mental and inspirational in equal measure? Looking for more unlikely restorations / builds or seemingly hopeless adventures that somehow come good against the odds.

Is he still at those bloody bearings @kayak23?! I'm sure he started and broke his frame over a month ago. Used to have decent content when he rode BMX

3d botmaker…. Diecast racing.

weird, the algorithm is strong here. Youtube recommended that a few nights ago. I enjoyed a few. Top commentary. But the cars invariably and unsurorisingly finish in the order they began, give or take a few ‘dismounts’ 🤣

Same goes for Storror as Mrs P and I have been watching it since before xmas! Excellent camaraderie and japes. Great editing. So many characters. Toby for instance goes into a run-up like a hunched, sprung animal fired from a slingshot. Loved the £10k hunt challenge also.

I tend to be attracted to restoration videos. Ot the fake ones obviously. But people who have a passion for it and do a fantastically thorough job.

Baumgartner Art Restoration is a gem IMO.

Another recent find I’ve enjoyed is AMMONYC. Car restoration and detailing. I’m not a big car fan but I love old stuff being brought back to life. And when I was a kid I wanted a red Datsun Z.

This blue one is close enough 🤤🤩

Also ‘Odd Tinkering’, for bringing random items back to life

J Mantzel was prob the first youtuber I subscribes to at least 12yrs ago - just for his giant robot project, he's now moved to South America and living off grid his determination and build bids are great, not such a fan of his motivational and political views but still interesting to hear.

Alex Steele for blacksmithing (a bit of controversial one in the blacksmith world though)

Satisfying over-engineering. That I find this so engrossing...is unsettling.

Some of those Storror videos make my peepee retract into my body. Terrifying stuff. Even the mild ones makes me lean back on the sofa so I don't fall off.

Watching a lot of restoration vids of smaller items like toy cars but am mainly involved in watching Korean street food videos and trying to replicate the stuff.

I was told about Beau Miles yesterday, some great videos and the one where he ate only beans to his bodyweight.... 160+ tins! Some pretty expected side effects and he’s pretty athletic too not a young waster that just wants “likes”

I have no idea why, but I watched that lighter video all the way through the other day. I was just transfixed by the skill of the guy making it. I genuinely think he could start selling them for about £500 just on the strength of that video alone.

Well I started out with welshfarmer's link expecting some nice "slow TV" lambing action and ended up watching how to make a stainless steel and brass 8 ball. Ah how I loved the metalwork shop at school - although I was crap. Then redmex's hillclimb pushed bak into my chair. Now I find I have to take a look at a 1/3rd scale DFV. Can it get any better?

Just watched all the Rob Warner videos and I think he must be one of the funniest blokes I've ever seen.
When you get him making pizzas with Olly Wilkins it can only be comedy gold. How he manages to commentate without swearing I'll never know.
