Except it doesn't, cos I've sold that car. But Kwik Fit don't know that so they are still emailing me. Does this keep happening with every car you sell, so that eventually you get them all the time for cars long gone?
When they relate to the car you currently own they are quite useful.
Oh, and dear car manufacturers: can you make it so that the UK spec car knows when it's MOT is due like it does for servicing?
Phone calendar entry?
I get reminders for my last 5 cars from Kwik Fit and ATS, the oldest car was scrapped in 2006! Tried the 'unregister' link on all of them but it doesn't work. The current daily is easy to remember though, Jan 1st, so don't even need a reminder about that one.

Only if you get your MOT done at Kwik fit.
My 16 year old BMW tells me when my MOT is due
I get service and MOT reminders from the dealer who recently did both so they should know that neither are due.
My local garage that I can walk to from work sends me a text as reminders for both servicing and MOT. I don't get reminders for cars that we've sold or scrapped. I think they have a special garage managing software programme that does this for them, that and the woman who runs the office is very efficient. I guess kwik fit never got the upgrade 20 years back.
Glad that government reminder got linked, we had an embarrassing oversight earlier in the year....🤦♂️
Our local garage are lovely, but no chance they'd remind us to get the MOT done
You let Kwik Fit MOT your car?! Pads and discs every year? 😉
As above. The Government one is really simple and surprisingly intuitive as are all the online mot checker etc.
My last 3 BMW’s have all reminded me too.
However local BMW garage keeps sending me reminders for one I sold to We buy any car and I got an update after latest owner took it for a service too. Can’t seem to unregister for that either.
Threaten them with the information commissioner because they are in breach of gdpr once you revoke permission. Soon gets action ime

Depends on the branch. I have one very good one near me that is staffed by two lads who have a steady stream of top-end cars for tyres as they properly look after the rims most Sundays.

BMW do that. Or at least mine used to until it went in for a service at some point and they obviously did something when resetting the service interval as it doesn’t remind me anymore 😔
To be fair my Prius had a calendar system for all the service items so you could put in when they were changed and it'd tell you when they were next due. However being in the UK, at first we just popped it in for service every year and the dealer looked after it. But when I started doing my own oil changes it would have been really handy to have had all that programmed in - but I never got around to setting it up. Handy for other countries e.g. US where people don't seem to have the habit of annual services.

I make sure to go in with oil on my fingernails and on my trousers, so it looks like I've just been working on the car and they assume I'll know how worn the pads and discs are. Which to be fair I usually have, and I do.
My local garage is old school and doesn't really do computers so I just rely on the government one
