Been to a club in Stoke a few times, the night was Golden but forget the name of the club, think it's been pulled down now. Say Boy George there and Goldie.

Pretty sure that was at The Void.

I used to go to North, a Hardcore Techno night, on the Friday.

I also used to go to Bowlers, but for Compulsion.

Just had a think and it is really difficult to pick out a top 5, let alone a favourite of all time.

The Bomb in Nottingham for the Tyrant nights with Sasha.
The Emporium in Coalville when Passion and trance was huge.
The End in London on a Wednesday for Fabio's Swerve DnB nights.
Fabric in London for the breaks nights on Fridays.
The Sanctuary in Milton Keynes for Dreamscape.
Heaven in London, can't remember what the night was but it was great.
Victoria Warehouse Manchester for Happy Mondays, I still love a dance in a dirty warehouse even now.

Monday - Ritz with Mark Gannon.
Tuesday - The Banshee on Oxford Road, 42nd Street or a gig at Band on the Wall, Boardwalk or the Gallery.
Wednesday - Hacienda or Berlin, maybe DeVilles or the Venue for a warm up.
Thursday - Jilly's, The Banshee, The Gallery or The Boardwalk.
Reggae at Band on the Wall. Maybe 5th Ave or 42nd Street.
Friday - Band on the Wall again or The Venue. Hac now and then.
Saturday - Jilly's, Banshee, maybe The Continental for pulling nurses.
Sunday - That Rock club above the Uni, up the escalator.

Plus Corbieres and The Beer House for a warm up, International for gigs.
Not forgetting the Sporran and the Press Club for afters.

For those with somewhat harder tastes:
Q-Club in Brum, specifically Sundissential.
Storm at The Emporium in Coalville
Gods Kitchen at The Sanctuary in Brum
Bakers over 5-Ways in Brum, though that tended to me very tracey

On a cheesey, bad but good because you are young way:
The Picture House, Stourbridge (met Mrs Lunge there)
Millennium by Merry Hill, my first trip to a proper club
The Dome in Brum, the student nights were incredible
Legends in Northampton, I spent most of my student loan there even though it was £1 a drink.

more memories for the Glesga crew, from my student days

Tin Pan Alley!
The Volcano (as featured in trainspotting)

and, anyone remember that one on sauchiehall st that I think is now the garage or was velvet rooms, had an amazing laser show, closed about 1992 though....

London-
gotta be Chemical brothers at the heavenly social..
regarding turnmills, has anyone ever entered and left by the same exit on consecutive visits? they seemed to mix it up just to confuse the punters.

Once went to the 'U-club' in Frankfurt, that was memorable for being so shite! The beer was flat and overpriced, you couldn't move, the staff were uber-rude as were alot of the punters, we had to clear off before we started knocking heads together 😡

For some reason I never made it to the Omen club in the same city tho, regret that a bit...

Anyone go to the Orbit versus Omen weekends??

The Dome in Brum

I'm surprised we havn't met before that night ride.

What was that night called in bakers that Dave Pearce played at every week? I think it was a Saturday night. I used to go to that every week without fail at one point.

A couple of years later I was in Rosie's in Sutton Coldfield at least 3 times a week. That was a proper sticky carpet club but good fun.

I_Ache, no idea of the name of the night but I know my mate was called something rather rude by Mr Pearce for putting his pint on the DJ booth. Those nights were very hazy.

lunge

Found it. It was called Horny, makes sense now because my memory of queing up outside are of girls with devil horns and randomly lads with old Team GT tops on.

Why did folk used to wear GT lycra to clubs? They can't all have been XC riders and I never noticed any Zaskars locked up outside afterwards.

I_Ache, I did attend a few of the harder nights in a Rock Shox top, a pair of baggy 3/4 length shirts and done Acupuncture trainers along with some neon in my hair. I was so washy chemically fuelled back then though.

The Pelican in Aberdeen on one particular night when JR was playing, horrible dump of a place even in the dark (but fantastic), I was unfortunate enough to be in it through the day once with the lights on!!!

Space closing parties.

@Scotsman, the Pelican was brilliant, small, painted black inside, garden furniture, toilets were trainspotting quality but the music was class.

@Den - Is that Joe Paparazzi's you're talking about? I had many nights in there, or the Choice, or Tin Pan.

Ha! sounds about right! 😆

God the the Orbit was mental, we used to go to that pub over road to get 'warmed up' on Ayingerbrau.

Did you go the night Aphex Twin played and peed off all the regulars?

And the night that lad fell off the balcony?

The round flyers...I could go on and on about that place 8)

I sincerely hope you don't mean the hovel in a certain south coast university town

Nor the one in a certain North Yorkshire garrison town - Scorpion/Staxx, name depending on your age, was the one to go to (get some Colburn Commando action - very cunning move that by North Yorks County Council, building a housing estate for single mothers right next to a town more or less full of young, single blokes with some money to burn...).

Otherwise, The Generator in Prince George, BC - Canada's "most dangerous city" - or the Sin Bin (correctly titled The Assiniboia Inn) in Medicine Hat, AB. For similar reasons to the 2 fine establishments above...

Sugarsweet at The Art College, Belfast (90 - 93)
moved to Germany and spent 9 months listening to techno
moved to Manchester in '95 - Bugged Out at Sankeys, Electric Chair at Roadhouse, Grand Central parties, Hulme parties, Megadog

moved to Leeds in 2001 and it was shit by comparison...too much coke and rich students living off mummy and daddy

We used to do that as well for a bit. I went pretty much every weekend for about 8 /9 years. I knew the promoters and was mates with nige so it was a cheap but ace night out. Saw apex twin twice, once early on and he scared people to death ( there were pilled up girls crying on the balcony, mental!). Second time the local speed freaks couldn't handle the lack of 4x4 and it all got a bit nasty, pity really and it was the start of the sad decline (2000 ish). I really loved the place but it all started to get a bit crap not long after that.

The orbit trip to the love perade was excellent as well. Tresor was amazing and we pretty much had access all areas as they were mates westbam.

The Bluenote in Derby

For many many good reasons, many of them not good!

And gatecrasher before it burnt down, surprisingly while it was empty apart form the managers, and the two bigger clubs in Sheffield had just recently been completely refurbished (or in Plug's case, built), definitely not an insurance job.

I have forgot the finest club in Brum, Snobs. The only place I know where you can get 2 bottles of beer and 2 gin and lemonade a for fiver. Still not be cleaned since the late 70's, still throwing out great tunes and still rammed every weekend. Brilliant place.

all my faves have been mentioned so far except one - The Key. Another sad casualty of the Kings X redevelopments, along with The Cross and Canvas. RIP The Key 🙁

here it is:

(that's basically all of it... doesn't look much but epic lineups, amazing nights and a light up dance floor is all you need really)

The Sin Bin... Medicine Hat!

Perhaps one of THE most violent clubs on the planet !?

Remember seeing a North American Indian dude getting a metal chair across his head ( just minding his own business) this then led to the biggest brawl I've ever seen. Same every night guaranteed.

Spilling out on to the streets. Jeez wild.

Pemps in Wigan. Woman on the door, sat in her Vitara, setting her Alsatian on anyone she didn't like...

The Turnkey, also in Wigan. Awful and hysterical all in one go.

Planet Earth, Leeds. Revolving dance floor...

And finally, Boulevards in Crawley, circa 1992. Capacity 30, but with mirrored walls it felt like the Hacienda!

However...

The Jazz Rooms in Brighton was amazing. Tiny, sexy, amazing music during the heady days of Acid Jazz.

Hmmm, let me think...
Yummy at the eddysons basement, Barrow in Furness
Friday nights at the Carlton, Morecambe
All nighters at the Empire, morecambe
Cream, Liverpool
Maximes and Wigan pier, Wigan
Bowlers and the hacienda, Manchester
Angels, Burnley
Up your ronson and back to basics, Leeds
Gatecrasher, Sheffield
E paradise, amnesia and cafe del mar, Ibiza
There's loads more that I went to but my memory's not what it used to be 😉

That was a different Sean (Kendrick), the manager was Sean Mcinerney. Kendrick is now in the US I think. Not seen Nige since about 99, he alienated a lot of people around then for various reasons. Hopefully he has sorted himself out now.

Swiftly followed by being tazered by the Mounties...

There was also the strip club/bar on the edge of town, on the left, coming in from Suffield, where the blokes heated up loonies (Canadian quarter dollar coins to the uninitiated) with lighters and flicked them at the strippers as "tips". That was another godawful, but strangely alluring, place...

Edit: Cheetahs was the name...
