Sorry. Did search for 'album' and didn't see anything. Only taking a break from work, and read the BBC piece on disappearing CD shops...

In any case, considering the number of times you bring up God on this forum, Woppit, a repeated thread like this is unlikely to be a bother. Especially if it dies in the next few posts.

Album, ELO, Discovery. Never bought a single but first 12 inch was New Order, Blue Monday.

Anyway... My second was "Rubber Soul" by the lovable moptops.

Although I'd had albums and singles bought for me, the first I bought myself were

First Album was a compilation called Axe Attack

First single - bought 3 at the same time: Turning Japaneese - The Vapours, Ashes to Ashes - Dave Bowie, Diary of Horace Wimp - ELO.

First album: Iron Maiden - Live after Death on double cassette (1985)
First single: Ghostbusters theme (1984)

Single - Remember You're a Womble

Status Quo - On a level was my first album (on cassette)

First records I had was some Disney soundtracks thing.

First CD was Paul Simon Graceland.

Not sure about singles, first one I can remember is this;

After my formative years of getting records bought for me by my Dad (T Rex and Mud mostly), my first self purchased single was 999 "Emergency", album I think was Iggy Pop "New Values".

Album: Tiswas Presents The Four Bucketeers (1980)

Probably nothing to be proud of there.

First album...struggling to remember. Most of my early listening was copied on cassette from my best mate's older brother. I'm pretty sure it was The Nightfly by Donald Fagen. If it wasn't, then I've obliterated anything else from my memory.

First Concert: Madness 1980 followed by The Specials the same year.

First Album: Bob Marley - Legend
First singles (bought 2 on cassette): Doop by Doop. The Sign by Ace of Base. Absolute classics.

Single: Royal House - Can you Party
The same day I also bought an Eric B & Rakim 7". Not sure which one, but they were both out of the bargain bin in Woolworths.

Album: Beastie Boys - Licensed to Ill

Album: Bon Jovi Slippery when wet
Single: Broken English, Coming on Strong

Single: Do the Bart man on tape. Sure i've still got it somewhere.
