Following on from the cheese on toast thread, and the abysmal excuse for one that was my lunch, indulge me with details of the finest sandwichery you have ever encountered.

(I know it's been done before, but I like sandwiches and it's been a while. Plus I want to erase the memory of the abomination that I had for lunch)

Mine? Bacon, Brie, Avocado, tomato, lettuce and cucmuber, with a smattering of mayo, on a soft Ciabatta roll.

Carry on...

Bacon sausage and egg. Sausages MUST be Debbie & Andrews Perfect Pork, bacon must be rindless back and the egg must be fried and runny.

That or a really good quality burger with mature cheddar

And no rabbit food

Jamie Oliver's steak sarnie,

2 x 300g (10½oz) best-quality rump steaks
2 sprigs of fresh thyme
1 ciabatta loaf
A small handful of jarred peppers
A couple of sprigs of fresh flat-leaf parsley
Horseradish sauce, to serve
A large handful of prewashed rocket, to serve

From his 30 min meals book, goes really well with the other courses.

there is only bacon and fried egg.
dress it up however you want - in its pajamas, in a frilly dress, in its Sunday best.
as long as there's bacon and there's egg.
nom.

There's been some horror butties mentioned, each to their own and all that, but you really need to go sit in the corner and have a stern word with yourself.

Off you go.

Amen, brother yunki.

Avocado's are the devils bulging, swollen testicles, swinging between the sweaty thighs of Satan himself! Sullying a bacon butty with such an inherently evil abomination is a perversion beyond words, you sick, sick man! Why... just WHY would you even contemplate such a thing?!

The only acceptable accompaniment to bacon, between bread is...

Chicken, Bacon and Avocado, with Mayo and black peeper, on a fresh poppy seed bagel (from the local Bagel shop - I've tried to recreate with supermarket bagels, but they are inferior.)

Avocado must always be ripe, nothing worse than crunchy avocado (first world problem)

Thickly sliced Ham and Stilton, nothing more, maybe a witness of butter. Any kind of bread as long as it doesn't arrive sliced in a plastic bag.
