That is mad. Although were the 4 ingredients truffle oil, pomegranate molasses, wood pigeon breast and vintage port?

@Drac, he's employed by the Guardian to make people in the provinces feel inadequate. You really need to be in a nicer bit of London to even begin to get the required ingredients.

Remember if your local convenience store has ran out of pomegranate molasses you can make your own from pomegranate juice.

Ah! I’ll stick with others if it involves living in London to make his recipes.

The Guardian food bit is mental in general. Here is their easy pantry dinner to get you through lockdown:

https://www.theguardian.com/food/2020/apr/08/pantry-staple-recipe-soba-noodles-quick-pickles-and-furikake-fried-egg

"Furikake, pick your favourite brand or ask your grocer for their favourite one"

I can't decide on a favourite, I'll pop down to Spar and ask them.

Actually I'm quite a fan od Guardian cooking pages but that goes way beyond my sort cupboard staples. WTF is a Lebanese cucumber?

Having said that I think it looks quite a nice dish.

The Guardian meals for £10 4 part article a couple of years ago was really good. Not too fancy, cheap eats for the family

I've got the vintage port tomd but not the rest. It's ok though I'll just have port soup.

@Drac love that tweet, shared it with my sister who is 12 days into a 14 day lockdown with a family to feed. Cheered her up.

Right I checked what a Lebanese cucumber is. Apparently very similar to a normal cucumber, but obviously that wouldbe too easy for the Guardian. Looks a bit like the type you get in the Polish shop so maybe try there if your friendly neighbourhood Lebanese shop is all out.

“Furikake, pick your favourite brand or ask your grocer for their favourite one”

Isn't that just a combo fetish?

Here’s my recipe with only 4 ingredients:

Cheese
Butter
Ham
Bread

Jambon fromage sandwich

TBH I don’t think there’s anything finer than real rustic french bread and cheese, if the ingredients are good 🙂

That Grauniad ‘easy pantry dinner’ really shows the disconnect between the ‘urban elite’ and the rest of us peasants! Talk about foodie snobs. Pretty sure my g/f could rustle up meals just as good, except she’d look at the recipe, check what we had, and wing it! But then, she spent her early life growing up in pubs and hotels with restaurants attached owned by her parents where her mum looked after the food side of things, so she’s had a lot of experience.
Which is good, because I can’t cook worth a damn! Well, I can do a pretty good omelette! 😁

Mmmmm, you’re not wrong there! 😁
