I was pleased that it turned up on the day they said it would and the two delivery guys were polite and carried it into the kitchen and there were do dents or damage. Great!
We had searched for ages to get a descent 600mm deep tumble drier, most seem to have got bigger, as it fits in a corner. On Currys website it was quite clear that we had managed to find one and all dimensions were good.

We left it to stand for an hour or so before using it, as advised because of flammable and explosive gas in the heat exchanger, and ran the first test load with it standing in the middle of the kitchen were we could be sure there were no problems before fitting it. All was good.
We then fitted it carefully into the 600mm deep gap.

How could this be? I went onto the Miele website to see what they said the size was
Technical data
Dimensions in mm (width) 596
Dimensions in mm (height) 850
Dimensions in mm (depth) 643
Why are Currys always shit? If they don't cock it up in one way, they find a new and novel way to do it. Why do I ever go to their website. Please remind me of this if I ever mention using them again.
Chase all the plaster off the wall behind it, that will give you some extra room..!
I expect you should be able to return due to mis information on their website, but that wont solve your initial problem. I guess you could make it work by changing the way the cupboard door opens so it doesn't catch on the protruding tumble dryer, but you probably wouldn't be able to fully open the door.
Personally I do my product comparisons from manufacturers websites, then once I've selected the product I want then I shop around to get the best price. Sometimes it's Curry's/PC World, sometimes its not but generally I never rely on what any high street outlets say on their websites or what their actual shop floor sales people say. I've even wandered into their stores before with a tape measure to get actual dimensions of products.
Van anyone enlighten me as to the flammable and explosive gas thats in the he?
Are they testing them with xmas day farts for integrity
As for the dims, do you own an sds drill and 2" chisel attachment, although if it was me i would want a Decent air gap behind the drier to allow those ecplosove gasses to escape, or not let it run hot all the timr
I’ve had a similar experience with AO. Our washer protrudes from the space it’s in. Was hidden behind two doors and now they don’t shut. I’d be returning that for a refund though.
How deep is the washer? Could you swap them round? We had a similar conundrum replacing a dishwasher, had to go and measure up potential replacements as the kitchen fitter had undersized the recess slightly. I found that even manufacturers info could be out!
Leave the drier where it is, remove all the units, sink etc and shift the lot 50mm forwards (or to left for the L shaped bit) then add some filler pieces, and you’re golden.
Plumbing is a nightmare to swap around as there is also a dishwasher to the left of the dryer. It was set up so water and drainage were all on the same wall.
There is no post to allow the door to be switched easily.
I don't fancy digging our 5cm of wall to let it slide back into place.
It looks like it is going back and we will get the Bosch Serie 4 WTH84000GB which I have checked on the manufacturers site and it should fit.
My BIL had exactly the same problem with a washing machine from Currys a few months ago. Currys accepted the return, but after quite a few phone calls.
Always check the manufacture website not a 3rd party
Can I be the first to congratulate you on not maiming yourself with some obscure and painful injury whilst fitting it?
I’ll check back in once you have pulled it and and replaced it as this obviously increases your odds of WCA style catastrophe.
Apparently we DO want to swap the dishwasher with the tumble dryer so my last day of holiday is going to be spent replumbing the kitchen. Deep joy.

Guessing that that will be so that the washer and the dryer are next to each other, think about which way the doors open before you replumb.

TBF it’s not quite fitted yet....
Tumble dryer fitted.
Washing machine back in place - had to move to remove the old plumbing for the dishwasher.
Old dishwasher water feed capped.
Just the dishwasher feed and waste and I can relax on the last day of my holiday.
WCA you made the mistake of not consulting the Project Manager first didn't you?
Similar things happen in this house and projects can expand in scope to accommodate the revised brief.
currys again a few months ago, customer needed a new gas cooker, but opening between units to small, but worktop overlapped so cut back worktops to allow width of cooker plus about 15 mmm gap, cooker arrived and it just about fitted, pity they forgot to mention the lift top glass lid height, that fouled the wall units when opened, not happy

So it works fine in the middle of the room. I think you've got your answer 😉
In view of this thread and Gnumas' recentish Currys fun, I getting cold feet about ordering a Shark vacuum through them, even though it's the cheapest available source and I can have fun collecting it on my hybrid from ~2 miles away!
Even checking manufacturers sites isn't reliable. Integrated fridge replacement.. Check depth, all good - close, as you'd expect, but doable.
Arrives, and the manufacturer has opted for the world's largest plug to fit in the limited space left behind the fridge, effectively adding another 4cm on the depth measurements.
I replaced the plug with a normal one and it was fine, albeit some people out there would have you believe this was tantamount to a cross between witchcraft and high treason.
In related news, integrated appliances are a pita
When we moved in here someone had put the drain pipe and surface mounted socket behind the dishwasher.
It therefore stuck out by 5cm or so.
I moved said drain back under adjoining sink cupboard and the socket into the back of the other side adjoining cupboard.
The dishwasher now sits about 1cm sunk to the cupboards.
.
going to be spent replumbing the kitchen.
Possible drowning hazard? Please make sure life preservers are close to hand!
A couple of bottles of wine later it all seems worth while apparently

I suspect that the day isn't quite over as there appears to be a snake in the bottom left of the picture.
That looks like it is going to be a pain clearing up after a meal.
You won't be able to keep the dishwasher open for loading at the same time as using the sink.
4 slice toaster?
Show-off.
^ this
in my house it must be illegal to put a plate directly into the dishwasher, judging from the pile in the sink after every meal. I haven't seen the memo myself but the evidence is clear.
See also teabags that must first be moved to a position further away from the food bin than they are when in use.
Round our way, tea mugs must be left in the bathroom for two days before being washed, apparently.
The spoon used to stir it must be left on the side, not in the sink.
The bag must be placed onto the bag holding device and not straight in the bin.
Does my swede.
Don't get me started about project scope increase.
Is anyone else concerned by the proximity of the television to the sink? Just me?
Also that thing that goes in the plug hole to stop bits of food blocking the pipe, IT'S BEEN LEFT OUT.
I must stop looking at the picture now before I start cold sweats.
I had to take a tape measure with me to work out how a new washer was going to fit - this was days before lockdown 1 so it also had to be 'take away' there and then.
600mm deep recess, but due to the way the kitchen was put together and where the pipes were, the last 4-6cm couldn't be used, so the 'body' had to be 54-56cm deep at maximum.
Now looking at washers they vary from anything upto 70cm deep ! The sales person was incredibly helpful. Wanted highest spin, highest load, and no more than 56cm deep. Eventually got a 54cm deep 1400 spin with 10kg load - just the one available. The higher the KG or load, the deeper these seem to get.

I actively discourage other residents from loading the dishwasher as when they do, the capacity is reduced to 6 cups, 4 plates and randomly placed other stuff. When I do it, it is a picture of efficiency in action and a joy to the eye. I have suggested a stacking course but there were few takers...
