Lol at the guy in the red jacket casually walking away then going back in just to get thrown around and soaked!

Protesters say they are "highlighting the inconsistency between the UK government’s insistence that the UK is a world leader in tackling climate breakdown, and the vast sums it pours into fossil fuel exploration".
By using a big diesel powered pump!

Oh you’re one of these.

“I bet they didn’t walk to the protest” types.

“I bet they didn’t walk to the protest” types.

There was a (newsnight?) report following one of the organisers. Drove upto manchester from somerset to protest.......

Bit like the recent RSC/BP protest by students. 1) cant really achieve anything. 2) the supply meets the demand. If you want to cut fossil fuel use, do it. Telling the producers to stop selling it wont really work.

1) Awareness to others can lead to success

2) Maybe they cycle and walk normally and this was a one off.

Proper bunch of bells. We had a right laugh at work watching the vid at lunchtime.
Hopefully a hefty fine for the mess they made.

Yeah, I bet they're never usually utilising any of the modern amenities that contribute to climate change - like supermarkets, mechanised transport, electrical devices, etc. etc. etc.

If you're going to be sanctimonious and self righteous about something to this extent then you'd better make sure that you're whiter than white. Otherwise you're just like the Catholic Church.

Do you actually disagree with the point they are are emptying to make, or are you just one of those people who like to shout down and mock people for the sake of it ?

Well.......

No.

The greenhouse gas emissions attributed to the average person in the uk is about 3x the sustainable level.

If everyone dropped to 2x then that would still be a very good thing. And in all likelihood provide the momentum/tipping point towards <1 as once a few change then the infrastructure to supourt them grows and the supourt for negative things drops. Remember 4* petrol? If half the country went out and bought a tesla then petrol/diesel would be gone in a decade.

That was my first thought. Somebody had literally turned that on seconds before the nozzle blew off the end of the hose, surely turning it off again can't be that hard!

Ah - the old false dichotomy.

My view is that climate change activism has taken the place of religion in some people's lives, in an almost eschatological way. I also think that many of the ideas proposed by these people are ludicrous and are economically and sociologically illiterate.

This doesn't mean I'm some sort of climate change denier.
