With added girls, roadtrip and Spanish scenery.
Got reminded of this when I posted a music video earlier. Makes me wish I was young again.
Will definitely be watching, thanks. Love longboarding films.
(Have you seen the bit in the recent-ish Walter Mitty film? So good)
I really want a longboard! No idea where or when I’d ride it, I’ll never ride a normal ’board, too damned old and knees too damaged, but I just like the idea of gently cruising along on a nice flat path somewhere.
Route One do a nice longboard for £99...
Up and down the seafront at Weymouth.
Just 'cos The Man don't want you to doesn't mean you shouldn't.
2 flat miles from Pavilion to Bowleaze.
@eddiebaby - yeah, that would work, used to stay in a friend’s caravan at Bowleaze when I was a teenager. I was thinking mainly of Weston-Super-Mare seafront from the beach car park at the far end away from the pier.
I knew no good would come of looking at longboards online, spotted this Santa Cruz screaming hand board...
I’ve seen these boards in the Route One shop in Bath, and rather liked them, the maker, Mindless Boards are based in London, so a slightly different take to the usual US boards.

Bought 3 weeks ago, be really careful about your not-as-young-as-they-used-to-be Achilles tendons...
Only had a quick look at that but looks good - will be sitting my eight year old daughter down in front of that.
I've already sold both kids on the concept of skateboarding, this might be a better gateway in than 10 stair handrails.
Pin tails are nice and whippy and a long long board is always a nice cruise - but would say don't dive in and get one without having a good think about where you're going to ride it. Unless you have some nice smooth carve-able terrain in easy reach it'll just sit in the garage.
Sold my longboard when I moved to a small market town where all roads are narrow and made of gravel (it seems) and went back to a shortboard as Lidl carpark and the nearest skatepark are the only practical, useable places.
If the full video is too long here is a Naibu song that I saw that led me on to the film.
We got a drop through board from Aldi ages ago when they had them in. It doesn't get used much (nowhere to ride it round here, really) but it's fun when we do dust it off.
I nearly got a longboard a while back, but there's not really anywhere to ride one locally so I got some fat cruiser wheels for my regular setup. Love it, it's fast and smooth but I can try some tricks if I feel like it.
I used to ride mine at the road bike circuit.smooth with downhill corners and straights.loved it.moved now.
Love watching Josh Neuman longboard vids on youtube, if you've not seen him he does some great mountain pass descents !

I've got a Sector 9 longboard but my internal monologue still thinks I'm about 25 and judges me. I'm nearly old enough to not care, but not quite.
I commute along the canal tow path into Leeds and it's just been resurfaced in tarmac all the way. About 6 miles. It's quite windy and uppy and downy and is rarely actually next to the water so was thinking the other day about getting a long board for a cruise down there. Haven't skated for about 30 years so this could go horribly wrong.
Been snowboarding for 20 odd years though so I'm used to going sideways....
Get one especially if you like snowboarding.it will feel great and you will be good at riding it.
They do not turn that fast for bridges though but should be fine

It’s not my Achilles I’m worried about, it’s my shonky knees! I’ve still got my old board upstairs which I bought back in the late 70’s? Can’t remember, but I was always crap riding it, I was really too old and afraid of hurting myself to really go for it on ramps and such.
A longboard for just cruising is much more my thing anyway. The park in town which has just reopened has a nice smooth tarmac path that runs in a rough circle on a slope which would be nice to practice on, then there’s Weston seafront to cruise along, and the Sustrans path from Bath towards Bristol...
Just found a couple of boards I thought were long lost.
My last proper skateboard, Alien Workshop Danny Way from about 2001.
And a Foundation board from when I worked in a skateshop in the '90s before longboarding was a thing.
Hyped about breaking my wrist on the next proper dry day.
Wear wrist guards although your arm might break it is better.
Tuck n roll man, tuck n roll....
Good to see the ‘Gloom’ vid cropping up. I’ve been dropping links here to that particular one for years. Tiz ace!
More of the same long boarding in Cuba.
You can see my old flat in one shot 😢

Probably your link that led me to it. Thanks!
