Does anyone have one, looking at getting one and was wondering if they are any good. If anyone does, do they link to Strava using an iPhone for HR? I've read conflicting information when searching.

I've got one, for the money it is brilliant.

It is very limited on what it can do, a smart watch it isn't,  but for £16 you can't complain.

It is quite basic but does what you need.

It tells the time and measures steps and heart rate.

Usefully, it connects to your phone by Bluetooth and buzzes discreetly when you get calls, messages etc. I leave the phone on silent nowadays and never miss anything. It also unlocks your phone when next to it so you don't have to type in your code all the time which makes it worth wearing for that alone!

It is very small and light, waterproof and the battery lasts a month between charges.

I don't think you can get it to link to Strava at all, it links to Google fit without hassle, and obviously Mi Fit. There are several 3rd party apps which may, but I haven't bothered as it does everything I need it to currently.

It might be worth getting an extra strap (they're only about £3 on AliExpress), I've used mine daily for a year now and the strap is just beginning to show signs of wear.

I couldn't do without it now, but I can't see that a smarter watch would do anything more useful.

Thanks for the detailed reply. I think its worth a punt then. Where do you get it for £16? Seems to be £25 ish where I've seen them.

I have one and so does the Mrs, it is great for tracking and basic notifications, but I miss having a smart watch so I am getting rid of it.

I got mine direct from China, via Banggood. Plenty of other sellers, especially on AliExpress, but I've used Banggood for a few things now with no problems.

It took about 3 weeks. No custom hassles with a low value like that. Never buy fast shipping via DHL etc.

I've just had a look at prices, seems they've gone up in the last year. Presumably exchange rate fluctuations, shall we blame brexit? (Oops, sorry - wrong thread!).

The Chinese sellers are forever doing a "flash sale" so if you're not in a rush you can probably save a couple of quid.

It will NOT be recognised from strava as BT HR , despite being one probably due to marketing mambo jambo with the default app.

BUT there is a workaround (for androind ) using the free OruxMaps app.

You set the band to be discoverable and start recording a workout with the default app so that the HR sensor will start working and broadcasting data to the phone.

Leaving the default app running you open the oruxmaps and under sensors you find the BT sensor and activate it (for the app). Now you can start recording the ride with oruxmaps . At the end when you stop recording there an option to upload the ride to several online apps including strava. The first time it will ask for user/pass and that's it .

Bikemike sums it up well.

I've got one, it's great value. The battery lasts ages. The standard strap can sometimes come undone; I've got one of the ventilated straps which clips on the other way round and is much more secure.

I've had mine over a year, I bought a spare for £12 delivered when they were last on offer, but my original just keeps on going.
