not sure if it was released after, but I REALLY enjoyed Batman Arkham even though I didn't think too much of it when I played the demo...bit of a grower for me

What's Mass Effect like then? I've been hearing about it. FPS? Open gameplay or linear missions?

Modern warfare 2. Still awesome. Add Meehaja if you want some easy kills... I suck!

Mass Effect 2 - it's a 3rd person open RPG/shooter, a bit like Fable 2 but in space. There's also a squad element to it where you choose the 2 guys you want for a mission, all with various pros and cons and then order them around the place. And you've r&d budgets to balance etc etc

Its a proper time sink though, you set off to do one thing and 2 hrs later you've been running around doing little side missions and the like and not actually getting the main mission done.

TBH Mass Effect 1 was good as well and you can pick that up for next to nowt, you'll know if you'll like the new version and you'll get some of the backstory as well.

Try Trials HD. I think it is only available via download and there is a free demo.

It is a really good fun motorbike trials game, I'm hooked!

After working on GTA4 for bloody ages I'd say avoid at all costs 😛

Darkstalkers, Assassins Creed 2, Arkham Asylum and Halo ODST (if you like halo games). The upcoming Splinter Cell looks ace too if you can wait a while.

Darksiders and Bayonetta are both pretty good 3rd person action adventures. Bayonetta has some cringeworthy character design and cutscenes, but the actual gameplay is great. She can spin around on her head and shoot from each limb!

Borderlands is also fantastic.
