Don't really play games a lot. Used to play CoD online a bit, which is decent enough, but I got a bit bored of it, and cancelled my Live subscription since I hadn't used it for a year! Before that it was mostly PS One...in the days when it was just Playstation.

Anyway, I've been getting the urge to fire it up again. Just I don't have anything I fancy playing. Time is not something I want to sacrifice, so something I can dip into would be great (I remember spending every single night on Tomb Raider for about 6 months and still not finishing it!)

Driving game might be good. But there must be all kinds of real gems out there? And I'm thinking second hand bargain bucket. Don't want to spend £40 on something I probably won't play. So what's worth a punt?

GTA V, can play for as long or as short as possible, should keep you entertained for a while

Red Dead Redemption (Game of the Year Edition if you can). Best game on the 360. You're welcome.

Go back to Tomb Raider, it's one of the stand-out games of the platform for me.

If you sign back up to Gold, you get a couple of free games each month (and there's sufficient demos to keep you in gaming till the heat death of the universe).

I'm on an Assassin's Creed kick at the moment. The first one bored me but AC2 is stellar. The next two (Brotherhood and Revelations) can be had on a double pack for about 8 quid.

Driving games, Project Gotham 3/4, Burnout series, Forza series are all good. Or pick up GTA-V for a shooter / driver game.

For a change of pace, look at Life is Strange. Story driven episodic game which is utterly compelling.

Portal & Portal II (natch)

+1

Blinders.

And consider LA Noire too. Lovely story arc, ambiance and music.

I was really tempted to buy the 'new' Tomb Raider when it came out, but I assumed it would probably be a shadow of its former self. Even if it's good though, I dunno if I have the time to play it.

Basic xbox here, with something like 4Gb hard disk? Doubt I'll be downloading many games onto it!

Life is Strange looks interesting, but how time consuming??

GTA I've been tempted by, but not sure.

Halo I used to play a lot online, usually round a mate's house. And I excitedly bought the most recent one that came out a year or two ago, but after playing CoD it seemed really basic and nowhere near as fun. About £40 and it only got played a handful of times.

Life is Strange is a long game - most are - but you can dip in and out as you see fit.

I'd urge anyone to at least play the demo, it's tremendous.

I would also recommend gtaV but you won't be able to play it on a 4GB xbox360 - the install disc needs more space than that. I had that exact problem and had to buy a bigger hard drive.
