Has to be Lethal Bizzle - Forward/Pow. Grime's own 'Anarchy in the UK' if you ask me.

Although 'Wot Do U Call It' was arguably more influential. But still.

POW!!!

Giggs – Talkin the Hardest

Saw him live as part of Everything Is Recorded. Seems much more real than some of the others here that seem like they went to public school and grew up in Dulwich Village 😂 Just first glance of course, not that I have any real knowledge of any of their backgrounds…

Talking The Hardest does at least have the virtue of being probably the only tune on that list with a line about parsnips!

Giggs is pretty real but there are plenty of others on that list that have also done time (or should have done).

But it's a positive thing that young black artists don't have to be 'street' so much now to have a music career.

I can recommend watching the Stormzy video. If you do watch it without smiling … well, you’re a miserable git! 😂

That list is a bit depressing. The idea that Aitch is in there instead Skinnyman who released arguably one of the best uk albums of all time is shocking.

Yeah, who knows how they chose them - maybe listener votes? there are a few real innovators, mixed with some pure pop and some trash. Fun listen though, I wouldn’t go taking it all too serious, like.

Skinnyman who released arguably one of the best uk albums of all time

Fun fact

Back in my music days I wanted to get Skinnyman on a beat. Offered £1000. His manager said he was well up for it, it was all sorted, he was going to do it, but in the end the deadline rolled around and... He didn't bother. I found out later that he was the first artist to get blacklisted by Fabric... For not showing up. Twice!
