Please could you not say 'wow, just wow'. 'Wow' would have sufficed.
Thanks, just thanks.

Disturbed do some dreadful covers. Also all their original songs are pretty poor. Brothers other half loves them - so been subjected more than a few times.

Lasted 90 seconds.

Amazingly OTT production vs amazingly underwhelming nasal baritone from the singer.

We are not amazed.

Well luckily you don't have to bear our opinions in mind OP. Play what you enjoy! You would probably think most of what I enjoy is crap. 😉

What he said, not everyone will like it (or in this case no-one) but you do, which is nice.

To be fair if this was a 10 year younger me I may have liked it.

'Wow, just wow'... means.

This must be REALLY good. (Otherwise you will be embarrassing yourself)

This is eine kleine aufzugsmusik at best.

I really do worry about the people on this site sometimes.

Nope sorry, if the original is very good you have to do something different to get a wow from me.

Thats just not even a very good cover IMO.

Never mind johndoh - they’re a demanding lot on here! 😀

I quite like it. Mind you, I can’t talk - I also quite like this…

Pfft I don't care. Just had my taste in music questioned on a new Spotify shared playlist we're playing in the office.

Nothing wrong with a bit of Disturbed followed by Sleaford Mods, Moby, Bowie, Sabbath, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Wagner, Adele, Motorhead...

🙂

ha ha - yeah, I try not to add too much to them as people give me funny looks when it’s all odd Eurythmics tracks and Frankie Goes to Hollywood etc..

This is a WoW, just WoW cover of Nivana's Stay Away off Nevermind. Partly because it's almost completely indistinguishable from the original.

Never have really got disturbed, they always seem a bit erm, characatured?

I love disturbed. Well, I don't like their music but David Draiman's good value. Kerrang magazine front cover: "Don't call me mad" says Mad Davey Draiman

Definitely. Quite ironic that the OP should like a cover of "The Sound of Silence" which is being belted out by someone who in the words of the Big Yin ..."sounds like a goose farting in the fog".

Boy1 was extolling it's virtue last night. Wasn't impressed when The Wife played him the original. They have also covered Genesis - Land of Confusion. TBH it wasn't terrible. Proof you can polish a turd.

Utter shite!

It's painful to the ears and to hear ...

Why get so excited over a cover.

You have lousy music taste!

Meh!, didn't like his throaty attempt at a powerful vocal delivery but if you like it then my response to the track in no way invalidates your musical taste - we all like different stuff etc…etc..

I imagine not many folk would enjoy what i'm listening to at the moment - Lubomyr Melnyk - Ripples in a Water Stream

Pukes then wanders off to see if his brother still has a cassette of "Sounds of Violence" by Arthur Sproat & the Roving Skullwaggers *

* long since gone band covering S & G stuff, nothing on google neither, my favourite was always "Showroom Bound" 🙂

Sounds like a fairly poor cover of Anthony & The Johnsons covering S&G.
Just dull, really, brings nothing new to the party.
I love a good cover, I'm gradually putting together a covers playlist in iTunes, but I keep finding new ones; this, I'm afraid, won't be on it.

I had a creeping suspicion that's what would be waiting for me when I clicked the thread. I think there's actually a "thing" within American hard rock where they explore their deeper, more emotional side by torturing classics. Witness.....

Music is purely subjective and you either like it or you don't.
If you are 13, a whiney American brat who hates his mom and thinks his teacher sucks I'm sure the OP's record is really good.
But for the rest of humanity it really is pathetic. Not as bad as the bad company cover which will have most right minded people looking up their local taliban recruitment centre in the yellow pages.

Spat coffee on the keyboard from the title. Listened to about a minute of it. It sucks. The original was pretentious nonsense but it doesn't make me want to smash the speakers the way that garbage does.

I quite like it. But... It's a superb song, and they've done nothing to it other than be a bit raspy, so for that it's a no from me.

Good choices Holst, TH are class but then so was Jimi. You should dig out the XTC version of all along the watchtower, god only knows what Andy Partridge had before he got on stage but he is away with it, brilliant, and eccentric to my mind and utterly baffling to many others. I would put up a linky but I have to dash off for an interview.

Meh.

Initially dull - the neon light didn't really split the night.

But wait here's a key change. That's original.

Then I'll get louder and more growly, that should be a good ending.

Thankfully it ended.

At work so youtube links dont show up.

But, can I safely assume that someone has posted Cash's cover of NIN Hurt?

Surely a 2 page thread on covers someone would have brought that up by now...
