Just an idle thought. Imagine that tragically you have died at home and your faithful pooch was nearby. Obviously your canine friend will stand guard over you but surely might get peckish?
Yes, it does happen and not just dogs.
I'd hope so.
I'd just be grateful it waited till I was dead first.

What with your profession, I do not want to think about how you know that.
Definitely.
The cat would eat you first.
Mrs A is convinced that Willow would wait till we were dead. I'm not so sure myself. However, I reckon Willow-pooch would snack on Mrs A before me, 'cos I (like to think of myself as the) Pack Leader.
What about micro-pigs? And I'm not buying any crows soon.
Lop-eared giant bunnies?
Can you get house-hedge-hogs?

A fair few of my spiders and scorpions would want to kill me but then eat the things eating me. A snake tried to eat me once but that’s because it thought I was a mouse, easy mistake.
The dogs would probably turn they’re noses up at my corpse, but the Ferrets dont seem to mind if I’m dead or alive before trying to take chunks out of me.
I've been bitten twice by other people's dogs in the last couple of weeks so I'd say it's likely

Why was your nob out?
My cat tries to eat me if I sleep for too long.

My dog woulve been eaten long before we would get to an alpha challenging 'whose hungrier' fight.
But yep, dog eating a dead me vs starvation and i would expect to be lunch.
Great shower thought though!
Fall asleep and my dog will give you a nibble. 🙂
We have 3 - I wouldn't stand a chance .
Mine has been instructed to, as we're trying to safe on funeral costs.
Every penny helps.
Mine would lick me like a lollipop.
Probably not
We tried them on raw meat diet and they didn't like it (nor did the cats)
They are pretty fussy
They each weigh 1.5kg so the body would be decomposed before they made any impact to it.
OH has had to take a dog to a shelter that had stacked on its former owner. Surprisingly they weren't going to mention that to the next prospective owners.
I doubt my cats would wait 6 hours.

I read very recently that this diet isn't advised anymore because of potential health risks 🙁
when the yorkshire terrier licks me its not affection I am sure of it! She's just tasting me 😯

Seems like a good result for the community.
Mine probably would but only if I died about an inch from her face
I doubt mine would as
a) he's too thick to realise I'm food
b) he's got no teeth any more
Not sure this one would wait till you were dead...
WTF is that?
I think I read about that before has some genetic condition causing its muscles to keep growing
No, she likes people too much. She would sit by me and bark. And bark. And bark.
My cat has hasn’t waited for my demise. Knuckles, toes and elbows - all have been gnawed with small cat teeth. I used to put it down to teething but she’s 18 months old now.
I'd certainly hope both the cat and dog would tuck in. Plenty to go round now I'm a fat xxxx

There are risks if you don't do it properly yes. A key part if freezing the meat for many weeks to completely kill everything off. Can then defrost and eat.
Probably in one sitting, greedy little hound.
