Really dead boring?
Sounds like cutting edge shit but I bet It's just shit!
Lots of time staring at a screen, data feeds and doing some analysis, 12hr shifts and 28k? No thanks.
Now interesting and exciting would probably be tory party whip
Job for the boys Essel.
Serco are masters of taking over services for the MOD and giving the role back to someone who already does the job. Of course they will be paid way less than before but usually are pensionable so wages + pension.
As for the boring aspect. Bet your last penny on it.
Whilst at Faslane during the 90's we all used to say that Serco would end up running the MOD one day, they won every contract that was being sold off and inevitably the wages would fall, but for many civvies out that way it was guaranteed graft for as long as you wanted it, nobody could blame them for taking the jobs.
£28k includes shift allowance as well!
You operate SATCAT who cares about the rest
Had a tour there as a kid (dad was in the RAF and stationed there at the time). To start with they tell us it's a prime first strike site if WW3 happened (likely a Spetnaz raid initially apparently) and then as we're in the control room a loud alarm + flashing red lights go off. Someone then checks a thick book and concludes it's known space debris rather than an incoming ICBM. Pretty sure it wasn't all made up/staged for my benefit. I guess it could be a fun place to work though...
Zzzzzzz
commute would be the best bit of the day...
Space garbage monitor.
You’d find out if aliens exist
I switched off as soon as I saw SERCO.
£28,000, this includes the Shift Uplift. ! Job advert from 1992 or is that typical northern wages??

According to the Annual Survey of Hours and Earnings (ASHE), average gross annual earnings for full-time employees was £27,600 in 2015, a 1.6% increase from the previous year
Once you are in maybe you could become a spaceman?? Door-gunner on the space shuttle, now that would be an exciting job 😆 😆
Have a thorough understanding of the Solaris and IRIX operating systems - highly desirable
And i thought Solaris was dead....rather than running the services that keep the country safe... the-sudden-death-and-eternal-life-of-solaris
