expect to pay thousands and thousands for a flat in Edinburgh. Glasgow and commute by train?

Could be 500 - 1000 per week per bedroom

for example

thanks for your kind words.
1500 is the sort of price we are looking at which seems reasonable considering the access to entertainment.

Student halls. That's where we stay and it's cheap as chips, and quite comfortable.

I used to rent out my one bedroom flat for the festival a few years back. Got £1000 for the month, I imagine the going rate is higher now. Like most landlords, I also put in a maximum occupants clause (2), and checked.

Get organised well in advance - I used to advertise on the fringe forum there is a listings service. First person who paid up in advance got the place. And no matter how clear I was about 2 people max I got countless emails from troops of Australian tap dancers.

Edinburgh is best avoided during the Festival.

At least you can have BBQ's at mine and the Pentlands is my back garden. 15mins to town on the 10 that comes every 20 minutes and stops but 100m from my front door, there is also the 3/4 beds and 2 reception rooms PLUS dining room to consider.

BONUS POINTS for the lack of 'characters' like in leith. Du kens?

Amen to that. I used to HATE the festival when I lived in Edinburgh.

I chose life

Choose Life. Choose a job. Choose a career. Choose a family.
Choose a ****ing big television, choose washing machines, cars,
compact disc players and electrical tin openers. Choose good
health, low cholesterol, and dental insurance. Choose fixed
interest mortage repayments. Choose a starter home. Choose your
friends. Choose leisurewear and matching luggage. Choose a
three-piece suite on hire purchase in a range of ****ing fabrics.
Choose DIY and wondering who the **** you are on a Sunday morning.
Choose sitting on that couch watching mind-numbing, spirit-crushing
game shows, stuffing ****ing junk food into your mouth. Choose
rotting away at the end of it all, pishing your last in a miserable
home, nothing more than an embarrassment to the selfish, ****ed up
brats you spawned to replace yourself.

Choose your future.

Choose life.

You can't live life by film quotes unless from
1. Team America
or
2. Napolean Dynamite
or
3. Anchorman

More fail.

Sorry bobby 😳

Seriously its an absolute fortune to stay in Edinburgh during the festival season. I would seriously consider staying in Glasgow and commuting on the train or camping unless you feel rich
