Just heard 'A View to a Kill' before I could find the remote.
Nothing with a voicebox is supposed to sound like that unless it's giving birth, dying or being eaten.
Dance into the fire, indeed.
Yours?
The one from Spectre.
And it won an Oscar.
Civilisation is doomed.
As above. Sam smith over radiohead - retarded
spectre
skyfall - just been on telly so may have biased the result
maybe view to a kill in bronze
A View to a Kill was of its time, maybe hasn't aged that well.
Sam Smith was dismal, then, now and forever. It should be purged from history and my memory.
The Spectre one is diabolical.
Sam smiths song ,, he needs castrating for that !
Writing on the wall - just terrible
Best- Casino Royal, Chris Cornell is ace.
Didn't think Sam Smith's effort was too bad tbh. Takes a while to get going but the chorus delivers, as well as being incredibly Bondy without being a copy.
I love Chris Cornell but You Know My Name was awful, occasionally rose to the dizzying heights of derivative.
Licence To Kilt. No that's not a typo, it's how Gladys Knight sang it.
Spectre one was by far the worst, bit like the film.
The one from Spectre. Bloody awful, what were they thinking?
Spectre.
Spectre is a sack o' shite
Octopussy one is dismal. Matches the film well.
Sam Smith not great, but not awful and did fit the film.
Looking forward to the two Dalton films over the next couple of weekends now ITV have waded through the turgid mess of Moore's later efforts.
Spectre
@Northwind there was plenty of commentary/speculation that Bond Theme's contractually have to be written to a "format"
Sheena Easton's effort was a bit beige, but nowhere near as awful as spectre...
"All Time High" by Rita Coolidge.
At least the others mentioned are recognisably Bond themes. I only looked into this as the Bond it's from was on recently (no clues, can you guess without Google?) and I couldn't believe how tepid it was.
Madonnas die another day
Spectre by a frickin mile.
Thunderball
Licence to kill worst for me, followed by All Time High (Octopussy)
Thought it was just me on the Sam Smith dirge. When all the media were tripping over themselves to praise it I just thought it was a generational thing. Thank god it's not just me thinks it's sh**
Nothing else sticks in the mind as being as disappointing or overrated though there's a few above that come close.
That Sam Smith whiney pathetic bore-fest. I first saw it on Graham Norton*, it was bloody awful live. One of the other guests made some joke about Metallica doing it, but I reckon James Hetfield could sing that way, way better than Smith.
*guilty as charged.
Spectre was mind numbingly boring.
Skyfall was excruciating, it felt like it never ended.
Goldeneye is like nails being drawn across a blackboard / chewing tinfoil. Sounds like it was made for Karaoke.
I actually don't mind A View To a Kill (unlike the movie).
Spectre is bad but at least Radio Head didn't do it in the end or people would be slitting their wrists in the cinemas.
A View To a Kill - 80s, Duran Duran. How can you not like that? 😛
Actually I don't mind the film either. Put aside Wrinkly Roger, you've got Christopher Walken being evil and Grace Jones being, err Grace Jones! Story not all that bad. Plus allegedly the snowboard was borne out of this film (I think it probably wasn't, but may have been the first time a lot of people saw snowboarding).
Other themes, not seen Spectre and can't recall if I heard the theme anywhere. Obviously not memorable. Can't say any of the reboot themes have been anything special. Skyfall sounds a bit whiny, but then so does Adele.
Thunderball is a bit tedious, as is the film. Nicely shot, but the underwater stuff just goes on and on and on... zzzzz.
Die Another Day is fairly rubbish, music that is. Film is utter garbage. Talking of Garbage, they did The World is Not Enough... garbage. Well, just generic unmemorable Bond theme.
Basically, most of the 60s to 80s in Bond themes were great. Then it took a dive, but Goldeneye was "ok" and Tomorrow Never Dies generally works and it emphasises the title well.
Madonna's effort by a long way.
But that crap on the beginning of quantum of Porrige was hopeless, too. I can't remeber it at all becasue it didn't have a tune.
Skyfall is a great bond theme! Spectre never gets going and the Madonna one was a travesty.
Licence to Kill is a bit too power ballady for me.
I don't mind the film either. Put aside Wrinkly Roger, you've got Christopher Walken being evil and Grace Jones being, err Grace Jones!
Alison Doody in jodphurs.
Possibly the most memorable Bond film ever for that reason alone.
*goes off for a lie down*
That Sam Smith pile of crap
Madonna pulling another "it's all about me" number and missing the point by a country mile
The Jack White one wasn't great either
Spectre is bad but at least Radio Head didn't do it in the end or people would be slitting their wrists in the cinemas.
I quite liked it - best thing I've heard from their art project for sometime, but not convinced it'd back a good theme.
Sam Smith, awful, just awful, honourable mentions for Madonna & Sheryl Crow.
For the record I quite A View to A Kill, need an upbeat number to excite & delight. That's why I thought Chris Cornell's was perfect blew away the Remmington Steele cobwebs & ushered in a grittier Daniel Craig era.
Depressing.
Well, as much as I like Pulp, this would have sucked...
Aren't most of them a bit sh*t? But for me Sam Smith was awful along with Sheryl Crow's efforts. But lets not forget that David Arnold has a lot to answer for in terms of dodgy bond themes, Garabage or Chris Cornell anyone?
