Was thinking last night as I was pedalling up a hill were people rideing bikes that were to big for them.
As someone who got caught up in the lls idea and has now swapped back from a large bike to a medium because its more fun and easier to riddy muddy Welsh hills.
Was part of the problem people on xl bikes so when they hit the mud it's like steering the titanic away from a iceberg?
Not that I'm a hero on a bike just a thought pattern

I think the poster is theorising that the muddy carnage at Leogang was exacerbated by geometry inappropriate to the conditions

Don't fight the Tao, flow with it and will arrive effortlessly (in a heap on the floor).

That's why i bought my G160 in a Medium not a Large as some would think i ought to have done.
Just thinking that the bikes are to big for them great on the normal leogang track doing 40 odd mph but not on steep twisty mud bath. There was a bike check on gmbn with Jack moir and he said he downsized his enduro bike to make it better for ews tech
I have four bikes I ride regularly two mediums and a large theyre all within an inch of each other in ett despite different size frames so obviously I just found the reach that suits me and kept setting up bikes kinda the same even though some are old and some are new thats what I think
My road bike is 56cm but my fs is medium, it feels more like an extension of me rather than a five-bar gate.
Just watched the Women’s race and some bikes did look really big when they were having to get off and push them. Stand over and handlebar heights looked massive on some of them.
I wonder if Farina is still in those woods swearing at her bike...poor thing!
This is what I mean bikes look huge brilliant on a fast motorway not what they were riding.
Anyways I'm off for a ride better to be doing it than talking about it
