Nope, but well done if yours is going. Tough to be selected, tough to do the fundraising.

Wife and both kids currently at Peak 2015. MrsMC is hosting a group of Maltese Guides. Apparently they've brought Mediterranean summer weight sleeping bags, and are not happy with this shitty weather.

Was amazing to see the site yesterday - 4000 kids ready for a week of amazing activities and opportunities, all organised and run by volunteers in their own time.

A friend of a friend is there... Japan isn't it?
She did moan about having to travel in scout clothing for insurance to be valid!??

A lad from our village has gone to japan - fundraising was a bit of a grind, I think, for the entire family

Traveling in scout uniform is the point! Especially Scottish scouts in Kilts. You meet and spot everyone else before you even get there.

I have seen some photos on Twitter with almost entire planes full of scouts!

It is an amazing experience, my lad is spending two nights with a Japanese family then onto the main event and finally two nights in Tokyo before heading home.

It is the 70th anniversary of the hiroshima & nagasaki bombs so they are visiting the hiroshima memorial park.

As scaredypants said, they have been fundraising for the past two years! Lots of driving then around to supermarkets/summer fairs etc.

My cousin is going. Their fundraising was pretty exciting (for those giving them money)- they live on a farm and had a big "family fun day" with teepees, bands and tractor rides. It'll be amazing- the guys from our troup that went when I was younger sounded to have had an enormous amount of fun.
