Brilliant question from my son.
What is the most world records beaten in a single event?
I can't decide what compromises a event.
Over to you!
1 World Record, it is just repeatedly beaten*.
*Unless you flex the definitions and count a decathlete/heptathelete breaks multiple world records for the different disciplines within their 'event'
Or you count the Olympics as an 'event'
Or you count things like car endurance 'events' where they can do most miles in an hour/6 hours/12 hours/24 hours plus best mpg over 100 miles/500miles/10000 miles and all those again as KM
As you have noticed, it depends on what you mean by an event.
A similar question I get asked sometimes by family who assume I am a bike expert "What is the best bike for £500?". Please define best.
Yup, I'mtotally with you on this. It's not a 'brilliliant' question after all. I ended up googling it and found some Guiness Book of Records stuff that whilst slightly entertaining was really trivial.
Maybe something like the Team pursuit which had 4 world records in the event at the olympics. There may be other examples (like athletics or swimming) where you can have multiple heats under ideal conditions. No idea how you find the most though...

Not specifically world records but those people who pogo up a skyscraper. Longest time on a pogo stick, highest number of bounces on a pogo stick, most steps climbed on a pogo stick... Lots of records could be set in one go.
Mexico olympics had a lot of world records from the high altitude and all weather track, triple jump WR was broken 5 times.
You need Norris McWhirter.
There was a cyclist just recently who claimed to beat a bunch of shorter distance/time records on the way to a new 24h(?) record. However on closer checking it looked to me that he was beating the records according to some minor ultracycling organisation and did not actually beat the nationally-recognised 100 mile TT record (for example).
He was still very fast though. Just not quite as record-breaking as claimed.
