I’m after some new work trousers, currently using (and like) Dickies Eisenhower’s, however I have to use clip-on braces with them, these either break, get caught on vehicle seats or slip, so want to use braces that attach to buttons. Any recommendations? Trousers need to be hard wearing and cope with brambles/brash but don’t need to be chainsaw spec.

And no, I don’t want to use a belt

You could fit buttons to your existing trousers.

Any recommendations

Time machine or stand in your local town centre and conduct a survey of old people’s shopping habits.

But getting buttons sewn onto his current trews doesn't give Houns the excuse he needs for some new fashion/action slacks. C'mon people, since when did N+1 just apply to bikes? Especially when it's fashionwear and Houns. 😉

Why not try these https://www.epicmilitaria.com/original-swiss-work-trousers.html
very cheap ,super tough I cut the brace buttons out as they are aluminium and not kind to bare skin ,but if you want tough trousers with brace buttons these could do it.

Pop down to the army navy in kiddy & just get some braces with proper metal clips.

Been using the for years with mtb shorts, as they come with the most useless belts known to man

Thanks for the suggestions.

I have used stihl and husqvarna braces with clips, jumping in and out of vehicles the clips catch on the seat and break

The 'classic' snickers works trousers (anything starting with a 3 in the code I think - not the new Flex / Ruff / Allround ranges) have big overlapping velcro loops at your hips - these are for attaching a hammer loop or similar but they also make a set of braces with big D rings that attached to the same loops. They'd be very securely held - and being at your side rather than at the back perhaps less prone to getting snagged

They have a range of materials - "duratwill' 'canvas +" and "comfort cotton"

In that order they are most abrasion/snag resistant to least (although the cotton ones are still pretty tough). But if you do any hot work then in the same order they are least heat resistant to most. The canvas+ are probably the happy medium

Dickies do a Bib & Brace overall (I used to call them dungarees). I find my work trousers slip down if I have stuff in the pockets or wear one of those horrid belt holsters. However when we visited the Auchentoshan distillery lat year I picked up one of their rather smart aprons which does the job.

I'd never noticed Robin Williams was that hairy in Mrs Doubtfire.😳

On a serious note any links to something similar that's not quite so expensive?

there'll be plenty of painter bib and braces about that'll be cheaper - just white instead of beige. Portwest probably do something cheap as well

Was thinking more black or dark blue than white or brown.
