Come across these two products.
Does anyone know what the quality of either is like? Is one miles better than the other?

Can't find anywhere to view either.

https://www.sealey.co.uk/product/5637643338/modular-storage-system-combo---stainless-steel-worktop

Thanks

Both are decent brands..I have tools from both.

I have an SGS Compressor and I have to say I was so impressed by the quality of it. The company were really good to deal with too, friendly and helpful. 👍

Both look good. Personally I have a pair of Halfords professional roll cabs - look out for 50% off deals...

I have the SGS 72" base unit, its fine, about 3-4 years old, used at work every day. The drawers have some wobble side to side when open, but they open/close and detent closed fine. The wooden worktop is a bit marked now.

Its no Snap On KRL, but its also a fraction of the price.

Both units have different drawer/cupboard layouts depending what you will be keeping in them?

Stainless top should be harder wearing/easier to clean. Wooden top is softer. If you drop alloy parts on the tops the wood tends to dent, the stainless tends to ding the alloy part. If you drop something heavy on the stainless top it will dent it and the wood under.

If you need the worktop to be clean clean stainless is they way forward, wood can have stuff trapped in scratches/dings exposed grain etc on a used worktop.

They are also slightly different sizes if that matters.

I wouldnt pay a premium for sealey .

Most of their stuff - if you google the model name alone without sealey is just generic stuff with a sticker on it .

That doesnt make it bad stuff - most of they truely sealey branded stuff is good . do watch out as many unscrupulous sellers sell stuff like saigen which is a sealay brand but its utter pish. - but wont mention its saigen till you see the branding when it arrives.

their premier stuff is really good

But as i said if you take the model name in isolation onto ebay youll find it without the sealey premium .

One thing that jumps out is theres alot of weight on the wheel span on that SGS one.

No experience of either, but I REALLY like the look of those for finally sorting the workshop area of the Garage.

Similar to Kayak, I bought a SGS trolley jack and I'm impressed with the quality.

So is most SGS, it's just often a bit harder to find other sources. (like, I got their massive long reach trolley jack, I could find other brands selling it in other countries and found the generic on aliexpress, but no others in the UK) I think they're pretty selective in what they'll put a sticker on though.

You can get the "SGS" stuff in Homebase under a different name..
They have it discounted from time to time.
Ive seen that one as cheap as £650 in there

To be fair...... Ali express is about the last place I'd buy a trolley jack. Second only to dodgy Dave's discount crap shop.

Sometimes... But they're also a consumer front for a lot of big wholesale stuff. Like, in that particular case it's a pretty unique item so you can be confident that SGS, and the Italian company, and whoever else sells it, is getting them all from the same place with different paint and stickers. And my other SGS jack is just one of those aluminium quick jacks that absolutely everyone sells these days.

I don't know what if anything they make themselves.

Bit of a bump, anybody have any experience of BigDug?

Seen THESE and tempted to use them under a self made wooden bench.

Cheap tat or decent enough for a garage?

No experience of the Big Dug benches, however I’ve recently converted an integral garage space to an archive filing room at work, using the Big Dug metal shelving system. Well priced, well made, easy to assemble, everything included, sturdy and totally fit for purpose. There was a lot of it too.
HTH in some small way?

Again like slackalice, got myself some bigdug shelving, It was miles ahead quality wise of anything else I could find.
Halford professional got mentioned up there ^ it definitely better than a lot of the shite you can buy, & can be had on offer if you can wait, but is still far from the best (wobbly draws we’re a disappointment)
