“We are also pleased that the windfarm will create new tracks that can be accessed by the public, allowing residents and visitors to interact with the development. The area is well known for its mountain bike trails, so we have been working closely with Forestry Commission Scotland and cycling groups to deliver two new specially designed tracks that we hope will encourage even more mountain biking enthusiasts to the area.”

Wonder who the "cycling groups" were/are?

Andy was talking about this at the weekend. I am not sure who the cycling groups were / are but it sounds like they will be investing in a climb from the end of the edge up to the top taking out the long fireroad section at nil desperandum. There was also talk of a new section where the boardwalk is because of the recurring windfall problems.

It is good to see more investment at ae and hopefully someone will take on the cafe and shop soon, but i am obviously biased!

Been told that 2km of single track is to be constructed due to sections being closed because of the instruction of the wind farm. This is being done by Tally who runs Uplift Scotland.
As for the Cafe have been told that there are plans for it to reopen but not sure when.

FC Scotland are not as happy to invest in Mountain biking a present as they are of the thinking that MTB ing has run its course, well that's the impression they put across.
Take for instance the mess at Glentress, but that's another thread!

Soon-ish. Tender is out and those who are interested have been shown round the premises afik. Cafe/bike shop is also getting a make over atm.

The bean counters and statisticians are not seeing the £££££s coming in through the parking meters vs the counters on the car parks/trails, hence the Rangers patrolling the car parks "reminding" people to purchase a ticket 🙄

I suspect that the people at the top are now finding mtbing a bit of a bind now that Euro funding has dried up and they are left with dwindling resources and a mill stone round their neck ❓

Could also be that 7Stanes has become a victim of it`s own success 💡 Other user groups will be putting pressure on them to get a better share of those same dwindling resources 💡

There was also talk of a new section where the boardwalk is because of the recurring windfall problems.

That is where the wind farm starts 💡 Base has been constructed for office complex at the boardwalk junction and work to the roadways is in progress.

2 sections rumoured are a contouring section from the end of Bran Burn to somewhere on the Edge and a second one climbing to to around the Stanes from the end of the Edge 💡
