Work shirts for a tall bloke

So I need to buy some new work shirts. First ones since COVID, now that we're seeing more customer face to face.

Previously I got them from TM Lewin and you could tweak the shirt and arm length. Being 6'5" this was great. But looking at them now there is no option to alter lengths. I understand they went bust/were bought out.

Previous off the shelf options I've had to size up to get the length but they've then been like tents on me.

So any recommendations for shirts for lanky slightly overweight but not obese middle age, middle IT managent. Oh also ideally something a bit bright or floral, rather than just plain colours.

Tailor Store. Take measurements from your good fitting current shirts, or measure yourself. I’ve got a big neck short arms broad shoulders and can’t really get shirts to fit off the peg. I’ve used Tailor Store for over ten years. They have a 30% sale at the moment too.

And you get to choose fabrics and tweaks.

Charles Thyritt for me, the fit my long, skinny frame. There’s normally loads of discounts codes available too.

Will look at Charles Thyritt. Couldn't see any options to customise the size but I may have been going blind.

Tailor Store looks good. Nice fabric/patterns and you can customise the sizes to your heart's content.

Will measure up some of my good fitting shirts as a point of comparison.

Thanks both.

M and s fit better that Charles Thyritt for me.

The Thyritt shirts seem to have stoped doing longer as a standard option and now its an additional cost

I hang on and wait for sales then get a few at a time. Seems to work ok.

Untuckit. I find their tall shirts actually fit. Never got a Charles Tyrwhitt to fit properly.

Charles T do a longer sleeve in certain shirts.

I have started buying trousers from 2Tall, much to my family's amusement, maybe worth a look if they do shirts too.

tmlewin.co.uk have a good sale on - I've not bought one in a while but they were lovely when I did.  I might invest in a few as my current lot are getting a bit long in the tooth.

If there is a Slaters Menswear anywhere near me try there. I'm 6ft3 and usually have trouble getting shirts that fit well. Last time I was buying one I went to Slaters. Told a senior assistant what I was wanting. She told another assistant what to get and he returned a few minutes later with a a shirt that was a perfect fit both in length and round the waist/chest.

Looking at their website shirts come in 4 lengths and 5 fits -skinny. tailors, regular, fashion, modern. Whatever. I was in and out the shop in 15 minutes with a good quality good fitting shirt.

Another CT user here (though his vocal support for Brexit kind of put me off). I'm only 5'9" but have had several, I just found the fit that worked best for me (15" extra-slim tailored fit) and buy just those, the sleeves are bang on for  me and the body reaches down my thighs so should be fine for  taller chap. They do have stores in larger towns now if you need to try on

Charles T have annoying removed some of their options recently. For the last lot I bought I had to go up half and inch on the collar size to get the sleeve length I need. They also seem to have removed the super slim fit option. They are decent shirts but I'm not convinced the quality is amazing - all mine seem to develop little holes on the sleeves after a while.

CT for me too, to get full-on custom you need to look at their 'Custom Shirt' option.

I've currently get all my shirts from them, from t-shirts to dress shirts - 6'2" and fit a slim medium...

Reminded me of the 2 shirts I bought from TM Lewin, they were so long I only wore them about twice!
Anyone wants them for the price of postage, happy to send
Receipt says they are:
REGULAR FIT RED BENGAL STRIPE POPLIN SHIRT &
NON-IRON LILAC BENGAL STRIPE REGULAR FIT SHIRT
Collar Size: 16.5
Sleeve Length: 36
(That's presuming I left them hanging in the wardrobe 🙂 will check when I get home if anyone wants them)
