Getting dark in the evening/late afternoon so looking for a work light. Must be something that lights up the whole room rather than a directional beam, must be brighter than the sun, preferably mains-powered, but I have Milwaukee batteries, smaller and more transportable the better.

Thanks

whatever is cheap/on offer/fits the bill at either CPC or Screwfix? SF have an (allegedly!) 1000 lumen mains work light for only £12 +VAT!

Most of the led work lights from the tool manufacturers are hybrids, so you can run them on mains or battery. I have a ryobi one and a mate has the makita - both really good - I’m sure the Milwaukee is similar

For very portable I use Milwaukee L4FFL.

Not as bright as the sun, but magnets are good, you charge via USB & they last about 4hrs on medium.

Bit pricey now though.....

I also have the Dewalt DCL050 which Milwaukee do an equivalent of. Pretty good & portable.

Tempted by this, but confused why they have listed it as being ‘230v’? Isn’t the UK 240v?

UK is 230 with a 10% tolerance.

not for years now. Although, the allowable range is quite wide so it would still be within tolerance!

These : https://www.screwfix.com/c/electrical-lighting/led-batten-lights/cat8010010#category=cat8010010&colourtemperaturevalue=6500_k&sort_by=-averagerating,-numreviews

I use them in the garage and have one above me now in my (home) office. Reletively cheap, easily available and even I can connect the two wires to make them work
